finished

Done at last. Not an easy home stretch, anyway, done.

Diet was good, few wobbles but not without reason. Did this to 1) try to give up booze 2) get myself into shape to snowboard 3) try to rid myself of my back problems.
1. Yes, managed to control boozing at the same time it is still knocking at the door since I love to socialize every now and them and also love to drink on the weekends making dinner or going out. Anyway, like my carbs it will only 30% of my down time : )
2. yes, in good shape and also PCP has triggered my to enter a half marathon, hike mountains and feel very ready for the snowboard season
3. yes,  better. Strengthening my legs and core has really helped create stability in my back. Need to keep working on this with spine lifting & cardio, fingers crossed I will be able to get back into golf.

things learned
1. Even though I thought I was in pretty good shape I was in shit shape. Anyone that wants to put this to the test try the leg and abs work outs everyday for 2 weeks.
2. Avacado is magical on toast in the morning
3. Skipping ain't gay, it hard.
4. I know what it takes to get into shape - consistent exercising and dieting. "ATMing" is a Labyrinth made for people that cant make a change in themselves.
5. Exercising daily means most your time is taken up.
6. Time vampires suck your neck when you are planking
7. Taking half-naked photographs and putting them on the internet helps fat blokes lose a lot of weight (well done to all!)

Can't say how glad I did this for myself. I can go into Christmas and New year on a physical high, instead of a mediocre, podgy nothing.

Enjoyed the group blogging and communication, without wouldn't even be writing this. Serious hats of to your all, you all look in great shape compared to those week one photos, oh we can laugh now hahahaha!

Day 89

Picked up an ear/sinus infection on Saturday and hobbling towards the finish line... managing to keep up with the cardio work but feel wiped all day at work. Christmas party on friday so should be able to get in any missed sets. Shoganai.

Post work out & drug-fueled undies

I bit of a struggle to get here. In the end came back from dog walk still irritable & tired, 20 minutes of TV and then daughter to bed, Got away with one and a half stories and opted for cribbage rather than scrabble. About 9.30 finish and into work out. Went with Funkagenda instead of Shlomi Aber which is good cause it is bang on for skipping which is more than I can say for my right calf. Anyway got through it and the exercises. Increase rep speed and got more out of it. Actually quite enjoyed it and started to feel quite super powered! And I am not irritable. There must be a lesson in this ... day 42, 56, I can't remember. I am a morphine junky and a stretch band is my dealer. First ten reps are free, then you start paying for it. I am so high on morphine I am about to upload a picture of me in my kegs.

before work out blog

I just ate, still a bit hungry. Grilled sardines on toast with avocado and egg. Yummy but still hungry. Didn't get enough sleep last night, tired, hungry and daughter is running up and down the stairs and will not dry her hair. Nuts. Its a good job I did just eat cause I was very fucking hungry and not in the mood to play, negotiate or even be in a conversation. My brain is thinking that I will digest the food, maybe have a glass of milk. Have to go for a walk with the dog and then I will be into evening snack, pre-work out snack and and post work out too. Cruise control n food intake. at the same time I checked out the training schedule and I missed 81 so I am doing legs tonight. My right calf is still tired and sore from yesterday, sleep deprived will have to put my daughter to bed at about 8.30 before starting skipping at 9.30. I am sure my daughter will want more than one story, I am sure she will not go to bed immediately. I will probably give her a story on my iPad and then play scrabble on it while she drifts into a slumber. I think I will listen to Shlomi Abers essential mix while skipping.

Day 83

bit messed up diet  - had a carrot for snack wen to the Gym & ran 7.3 km in 40 mins then didn't have time for lunch due to a few unexpected so got to abut 5 wondering what to do ... ended up yoghurt & egg but realized I was hungry so ended up having a "healthy" sando. Guess my calorie intake was about right, just some crap in the sando.

1st Number One  - first set of 7 mins with no stopping. Only managed 2 sets since after running left calf and glute getting to their limit, giving out some pain so didn't ant to disable myself.

1st Number 2 - I thought to myself " I feel in pretty good shape" after the run today

Feel no real desire to push for the last week, just create a level which I exist on. I think trying to make changes in yourself is important and to do so it is important to set a goal that you(think) you are heading for however there is a time where you have to realise there is much more then the goal you initially set yourself,  ... hahaha i should right a self help book.

Anyway, the real question (s) is (are), "what made you set yourself the initial goal to get to here? Day 83? What made you give the effort, energy and sacrifice to get here? Where are you now?" More importantly, "where are you going?" . Moving from self help to spiritual... I think I am high smoking PCP bong.

Day 82

not much to say  - normal day ... just finished work out. Probably my best skipping 2555 jumps which is just a bit over 2 a second. Struggled with the elevated push ups so went for 3 sets normal.

Body is feeling pretty good - back is feeling good (touch wood). Something that will improve my life:
stop getting up late since it fucks the whole morning up.

Not really getting much out of PCP at the moment to be frank. The diet it pretty easy and under control. Not feeling much change from the workouts but feeling progress from my running - managing 3 runs a week of 7 to 12 km. Well I guess I must be getting nearer my peak condition at the same time I may have reached my peak satisfaction with myself and at the end of the day peak satisfaction is a way to lead life. To be truly satisfied I need more than exercise and egg whites. Anyway. enough of the philisophical crap, only a week and a bit to go.

December 4, 2011 9:27 PM NZDT

Day 81

just finished a 14km run, feel pretty fit. Seemed to have stopped looking for changes and more about being balanced and sustaining a good condition.

November 29, 2011 2:19 AM NZDT

Day 75

Left for the mountains friday and surprised to find it snowing quite heavily on the way up so thought no way we could hike however got up the next morning to find blue skies and went for it. Climbed up to 2000 meters which was really effing hard. Guess it was about minus 2 or 3 and I ended up in a t-shirt sweating more than when I do aerobics. Crazy 2.5 hour climb to the top then 2.5 hour decent. Thought I was in good shape but this work out told me the truth & still feeling it. After climbing taught my girlfriend cribbage, had some wine, dinner, onsen and predicted huge muscle pains .... and sure enough,  Sunday my lower back muscles were a mess, today my shins are killing me just walking. Knackered, got a headache. Not sure if I am on the back-end of the flu, hiked out, or what. Going to have a bath and early night with not work out, just be too much.

I did managed to get to the gym for my 7km run which was a miracle however shins muscles took a turn for the worse after, Had to go to a client meeting with throbbing shin muscles, took the opportunity to stretch my calves going up stairs, couldn't for the life of my work out how to stretch the muscles on the front of my shins.

Conclusion - hiking is an awesome physical work out and day out and if you can fill your life with similar activities that work your hard, you are going to be fit , active, have lots of experiences and probably sore shins.

Day 72

Feeling like crap with another cold. Struggled through yesterday and feeling worse today. Just try to complete today and have a good rest. Driving up to the mountains tonight and hike planned for tomorrow so hopefully will be ok ...

November 23, 2011 4:05 AM NZDT

Day 69

another 7km run at the gym, managed to do about two thirds at 12km per hour. Convinced my assistant at work to enter so we are training together which is good motivation. Avoided a birthday do tonight and stayed home and worked out ...

wish list
1. more energy in the mornings. i do not think I am getting enough sleep and need coffee through the day to stop me getting tired
2. Lose a bit more weight. Have been hovering around the 69 mark for 2 weeks, feel I am getting stronger on the inside but look the same on the outside ... ok, inner peace but wouldn't mind a bit less fat too.

Kind of thinking ahead recently... what shape I really want to be in and what i will have to do to be in that "space".

November 22, 2011 2:39 AM NZDT

Day 68

7km run after work on gradient of 1%, home and exercises. Still feel a lot of fat to burn off my gut ..

November 18, 2011 2:51 AM NZDT

knackerd

Breakfast stuck to slice of toast with salmon, tomato, pepper. Morning snack of Banana & egg for energy and went to "muscle Shape" at the gym.  45 mins of muscle toning, pretty in line with PCP routine and was feeling the burn. Do squats with bell bar etc. good compliment to this. Bit of a shock to find afternoon snack was just yoghurt anded up drinking some milk instead. Managed everything in the work out but not bouncing through it at all. Think I have to do 8Km run tomorrow as part of the marathon training ...  my hip muscles, legs, the lot are aching, tired! Going to finish tomorrow off and then do the basics over the weekend and try to get a few hours extra kip.

Listing to new and good music makes working out better ...

treated myself to a new band ...

Need to by some veggies ...

November 17, 2011 3:06 AM NZDT

Day 63

6.6km run in less than 40 mins at lunch, did the leg work out routine & skipping and also be focusing on spine lifts morning, lunch and evening since there is some pain in my lower spine, especially at the start of the lift. Hoping if I focus on strengthening and flexing tis it may improve ... amy be the joint which would be a bummer.

November 16, 2011 3:38 AM NZDT

another day done and dusted

Corn foot, gammy leg, tunnel vision all working against me managed a 10km run in just over 60 minutes at lunch and just did full work out with skips and feel pretty good. Not getting much burn on the rowing and some of the other exercises. maybe should look into a different band, treat myself.

Mentally feel I am behind where I want to be and need to burn more fat off my body. Am I becoming mentally sick? Obsessed with fat? Start talking to people about fat levels? I think I will ask some of the people around me if they have noticed anything like this ...

November 15, 2011 3:02 AM NZDT

Day 61

went up to the mountains for the weekend & missed a day of work out but had a hike and good time. Saturday had breakfast, couple of pieces of fruit and saved myself for nabe dinner which was nice and had wine with it.  Mountains, log cabin egg white and an apple just didn't seem to fit : )

had an 11km run planned for today but ended up canceling and had a trip to the doctor with an extremely painful corn on my foot. Killing me & can hardly walk. Checked out corns one the tinterweb and found that you can also get "hammer toe"

Anyway struggled through the skipping and did the excises & was going to fit in the ones I missed out the weekend but just not up to it today.  Hopefully it will improve tomorrow.

have been finding myself telling myself to just keep moving through the program day by day and the end will be here soon. I guess I am not feeling much change at the moment.

November 11, 2011 4:00 AM NZDT

stretch?

Got to stretch more. Feels good after and I am getting old.

Anyway, another day done and that's pretty much how it feels. No real feel of change like the first month, no obvious weight loss, no real hunger, reduced cravings that are generally under control ... just treading water.  I know I am in much better condition thank when I started, just impatient to get improvement on now.

Have 2 baby fish in my tank, contemplating whether to take them out the tank to make sure they are not eaten by the other fish or just to leave nature to it (nature in a tank). Shaved my dog in preparation for weekend trip to the mountains in Niigata so she does not stink my car out. Orchid is looking like it may pop one of her roots out the pot and start making a branch to flower off ... my daughter has developed dry skin over the last 3 days which is a bit of a bummer  but she get some cream tomorrow and in the middle of all this it I did v-sits, davinci, skipping and even did over 100 lunges.

November 10, 2011 1:45 AM NZDT

Day 56

another day pretty tired from when I got up. Woke up about 6.30 so not enough sleep to begin with. Yesterdays extra run and then cycled to work so packing it in.

Got My ipod nike device to get started on the half marathon training. There is one in Ishikagijima Jan 27th that i have my eye on and then one back in Europe in April. Managed to get 2 other work mates to join me so will have some team effort.

done me skips, going to have a bath, stretch and extra kip.

November 9, 2011 3:49 AM NZDT

Day 55

40 minute run at lunch, 6.5km. Japanese until 9.30pm class then home at 10 and exercises. Feel pretty good now they are done but not feeling much progress at the moment in terms of toning up etc. and had minimal enthusiasm before my routine. Anyway, it made me feel better. Seems to be yearning for balance ... I think I might mean a few nights out to be more specific! Another late night tonight ... tired this morning.

November 8, 2011 2:55 AM NZDT

Day 54

Exercises done, not super enthusiastic about doing them bit done never the less. Indulged on Saturday at a top notch French restaurant and shared 2 bottles of great wine. Somehow skipped lunch so I guess my daily calorie intake was not too high. Decided to have dinner apple and snack before exercises tonight to burn some of it back out ... knees are emitting some pain so being careful. Back is back to being a bit achy and stiff in the morning. Decided that for my 40th birthday in March will run a half marathon ... saw there is one in Barcelona which would be fun.

November 2, 2011 3:44 AM NZDT

another day done

just dawdling along PCP lane, another day, another round. Lunches have been grilled fish from the supermarket with salad and a bit of rice. A bit repetitive but gives me extra time to sleep since work outs finishing about 11.30 and getting up 7.30 ish, could do with some more sleep but hard to fit it in. Already pushing everything back in the morning as it is.

Did a lunchtime gym visit and ran 4km in about 25 minutes then a bit of a work out. Legs were killing me in the first 2 minute skip but somehow pushed through. Got a bit of burn with the exercise routine but was really just trying to get through it since I got back from Japanese class at 10pm so getting close to the end of the day. Anyway, did it.

Stiff, sore back is still there, exercise fatigues it. Anyway, not bad enough to stop me doing anything.

Day 47

managed record pull ups 4 x 8 although I think they were a little short. Kung Fu sit ups, have a feeling this will be good for my back.

November 1, 2011 3:24 AM NZDT

Trick or Treat?

Left work early to take my daughter trick or treating. Went back to a friends after and ignored the pull or beer, wine, pizza, homemade mince beef and gravy pies, sausages and had a few slices of pear. Made it home about 9.30, put my daughter to bed then tucked into an apple.

November 1, 2011 2:34 AM NZDT

skipping

up the ante on the skipping and managed 2202 in 16 minutes = 2.29 a minute ... pant, pant.

October 31, 2011 3:46 AM NZDT

Day 46

Not a very PCP start to the day, had to drive to naeba early to be there for some deliveries. Got up late, ended up getting a sandwich and coffee from starbucks about an hour or so into my drive and then had bowl of instant ramen about 1.30 for lunch. Used a back support to drive but felt really stiff and could my lower back in my right leg through out the drive. That said, back is much better than a a month or so ago. have to say, was not in PCP mindset and on the drive back was tempted to get some more food however stopped about 6.30pm and decided to be strong. Looked for some fruit or veg and ended up settling for a coffee and waited until I got home for fruit dinner & exercises. back feeling better after exercise.

Push ups 15 then three sets of 10, v-sits - 2 sets good sets and then 2 weak ones. Going to have to really push my strength to get up to speed on these reps ...

Skipping - just went for the full 14 minutes no break with manic power skip for the last couple of minutes. Managed 1413 reps which is 1.68 reps per minute. Have a counter on my rope ...

October 29, 2011 2:56 AM NZDT

Day 44

felt a bit tired first part of the day, and I am suspicious of the magical veggie soup I have been feeding off for the last 48 hours. Delicious as it is, I wonder if the nutrients have been cooked out and I am being starved of essential fuel hence the lethargic work out yesterday and lack luster morning. Even if this is not the case, the worms of nutrient starvation are in my head and I just had the last helping and will dispose of the rest and return to the elixir of avocado on toast with tomato and egg for breakfast tomorrow. Apart form the tiredness and worm paranoia, pretty good day and not bad work out to finish. Gold stars on the skipping for doing 2 extra sets, lunges for doing extra and sit ups for fighting the burn. Wooden spoon on the pull ups for sets of 8, 6, 6, and 3 and V sits for doing the second set without letting my legs touch the ground which lasted to the 7th rep last couple of time.

Did one manic 2 minute skip when rope going at lightning pace and one jump per rotation with no pause at all in between - is this how they are meant to be done? If so I have been doing easy ones,  looping over my head, jumping with a little ghost spring before the next jump ..

October 28, 2011 2:47 AM NZDT

rubbish

Not sure why but knackerd through the routine. Am I skipping right? Did 7 sets of 2 mins which was only 1040 reps ... anyway, all the exercises were a push, not energized, rather tired. Pretty hungry going into the routine .... anyway, early night tucked up with yogurt, veg soup and dream about covering a beautiful girls body in egg whites and slowly eating them off before we both move onto 1450 jumpropes, 80 lawnmowers and 4 sets of 38 step creeps for the climax ... even my fantasies are PCP. And when I wake up I will be stronger, lighter and hungry for my breakfast egg it will be day 40 something.

October 26, 2011 3:17 AM NZDT

Day 41

Best skip with over 700 no trip. Apart from that a pretty non-amazing day.

October 25, 2011 3:10 AM NZDT

Day 40

Big day after a bit of a loose weekend. Kept up my exercise routine through the weekend but fell off the diet on Sat when i stayed at  Ryokan for the night and couldn't give up the dinner and washed it down with some beer and nihonshu and yesterday a bit slack ... anyway... came back today cycled to work, went to the gym at lunch, wen to boxersize after work, cycled home and just finished my routine. No real hunger and didn't actually finish my lunch carbs. See if I can keep the pace tomorrow.

October 22, 2011 3:26 AM NZDT

Day 37

Did the morning skipping, still stiff from previous days exercise but did them. Plenty of energy through the day but back muscles are tender. Went for a massage but they are tender rather than stiff so not much relief.

Missed the carbs at dinner again. Ended up getting home about 8 having an apple, eg white and then a veggie snack a bit later on. I feel I owe myself a bit of time on fruit dinner since had a couple of off days with the flu. Wonder if I should be force feeding myself evening carbs in the evening??

Really fancied a friday night beer after work or meeting my girlfriend for dinner, drinking some wine and getting a bit pissed but just went home, real show of mental strength .. boo hoo hoo ... I just tell myself I will be able to do it after PCP finishes and I will be pleased I did not give in ... boo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo

October 21, 2011 3:05 AM NZDT

Day 36

Got the wind (in a different way) at the moment; trip to the Gym at lunch for good 50 minute work out, got home this evening at 7ish, went to the super  market with Skyla who suddenly become tired so carried her around the super market, cycled back, let her watch TV for half an hour, put her to bed then full work out.

Calves and back was a bit tired before I started but got through it. The pistol crouches were piss. Not sure if I was just too cream cracked or just teething problems. Plank was murder. Started to imagine I was hanging from a ledge and just had to hold on ... can't let go... like the film with Steve mcQueen trapped on a cruise liner. It worked. Didn't read the new diet until half way though my apple so no carbs since lunch. Oh well, tasty green apple.

Hit first weight goal of under 70kg at 69.95 KG however I think I timed the weigh-in just right. Blood pressure lower and at level it should be. Quite energetic/aggressive at work. No booze cravings at all. Need coffee twice a day which I feel running through my veins ...
"Sumimasen. Would you mind smacking my bitch up with a drip coffee, short and can I have a receipt with that? Arigato gozaimasu."
"Douitashimashite"

Plan on doing my skipping before Brekkie, we will see I will be in a different frame of mind at 6am tomorrow.

October 20, 2011 2:56 AM NZDT

Day 35

finally got over the flu. 4 days out, Sat until yesterday. Stuck to the diet for the most part, but started to feel like I had lost momentum, like I was in reverse and not keeping up. today went to the gym at lunchtime since I figured I would be too beat at the end of the day to exercise & completed yesterdays routine. Came home and from about 8pm did another skipping set (2700 for the day) and them all the exercises for the last 4 days to catch up. Feel pretty good, Abs were starting to waver but I thought what the hell, done nothing over the last 4 days.
It was only in the last few days that I really visualized what I want from doing this. I think the forced break came at a point where I felt I had achieved a level i would normally be happy with this however this adventure it to really make a change. This time the break from the routine was from flu however any break will have an impact on the end result (break to go for beers, dinner ear something in the evening!). It made me realize that unless I follow this 100% I will reach the end knowing the result could have been better. That would be such a waste.

forgot to mention, my back is better than it has been for 18 months or so. No pain/stiffness when I got up. Did some small movements of the lumber and could no feel any pain either ... could be this be the moment of change ...fingers effing crossed.
New found friends:
1. Avocado as spread on toast
2. Finely chopped cabbage, tomato and red pepper with pepper and lemon as evening snack
3. red peppers in general

Big no: finish work early and go to the DVD shop about 6pm on foot or bike. Everyone is going for dinner and beers. Smells, sounds and sights are torture. Better to stay safe in doors.

October 18, 2011 1:40 AM NZDT

the flu

Rotten weekend and today with flu. left work after an hour and stayed in bed until this evening. No exercise : (  Hopefully can pick it up again tomorrow.

October 14, 2011 2:31 AM NZDT

New push

Feels like a hard day. Had to ride extra far to get to work with 2 big hills which knocked the crap out my legs before 9am which was the first push. Mentally pushed through the new diet feeling quite hungry and ended up having my fruit about 7.30 before my bike ride home. Legs were tired but managed to push through the skipping and then new exercises. New best on pull ups with 4 sets of 6 (just). Just had spinach and mushrooms for my late snack. bath and hopefully good sleep so my calves can recover for the same punishment tomorrow.
Quite pleased I have managed the first 4 weeks with about 95% percent completion ... need a new push for the next month and uses the word "push" 4 times in the blog confirming I will need to push every day! Push, push, push

October 13, 2011 3:01 AM NZDT

Day 28

managed about 400 skips before getting tangled. Mentally preparing for the exercise increase ...

October 9, 2011 3:54 AM NZDT

Day 24

Bit headachy and tense from morning through to early evening. Ended taking a pain killer  and disappeared. May have a touch of the flu since feeling a but chesty in the morning ... may be a bit of stress, may be the "changes"

has some super beer cravings from about 6.10pm. Watched both rugby matches at home and my daughter was unloaded to the grandparents so left with an open evening with my girlfriend with not a care in the world ... actually decided in my head I was going to reward myself with a visit to an Izakaya have a few beers and enjoy them because I deserve them, I deserve that down time, all the hard work I have put in, no daughter in the morning to get me up, spend a few our getting a bit pissed with my girlfriend, joking and having fun about things that will never be remembered the next day ... ahhh ... those dirty little demons, still hanging around trying to trip me up. Even pretending it is not them speaking to me, it is me telling me.
Well, F&$king showed the wee bastards. Picked up my skipping rope, managed about 450 jumps with out a trip which is a house record, did the rest of my exercises including 4 sets of pull ups (booyashaka)  which took me until after 8pm, went shopping made dinner and enjoyed the meal with a download of strictly come dancing.

October 8, 2011 3:23 AM NZDT

Foghorn

managed 2 sets of 5 pull ups then one set of 4 one set of 3. Couldn't do one 3 weeks ago. thought I should not this since it is a change.  Other changes: my skin seems smoother and dry skin patches have cleared up; I can squat down and stay there in a sitting position; my work shirts are not quite a stretched across the chest; doing the top button does not restrict circulation to my neck; mornings are better and I am farting like a foghorn. I have put this down to fat turing to muscle, veggies decomposing in my body and producing methane gas or I am putting too much curry powder on everything. Anyway, "crazy farting".

October 5, 2011 3:56 AM NZDT

Day 20

Cycled to work, dropping my daughter off at school on the way which is about 8 km on a cross between shopping bike and mountain bike. Total of about 15km today. Went to  check new office space this afternoon which was about 4 km of walking in 2.5 hours.. Stood up when I as at the office. Had company bowling after work from 6.30 until 8. Japanese class 8 until 9.30. home, exercise routine & about to make tomorrows lunch. Cream Crackered!
Starting to sleep well at night, headaches have gone, not too many alcohol cravings ( oh but I would love a beer), not too many alcohol cravings ( a glass of wine), not too many ... leave me alone! They have gone. That was easy.
Took action to get a private yoga teacher to help me stretch my crippled back and then by then end of this will be at a new starting point.
weight 71.6kg, 27% body fat ( and how the FC UK can my scales know that ????)

October 4, 2011 3:34 AM NZDT

bit tired

Felt a bit tired all day. Cycled to work, not a great day at work, did my routine about 9.30pm. get lunch ready and bed. Lower right back a bit painful.

October 2, 2011 4:16 AM NZDT

Short break

Just finished my routine. Pretty wiped before I started but forced myself to do it and did it. Missed my exercises over the last 2 days since I played in a golf event yesterday. Didn't want to tire my back out before playing and was tired and achy last night so didn't push it. Pain have pain in the right lower back, I am wondering if it is muscular or from the joint. Hopefully PCP will give me the answer to it. Generally feel better than the last time I played golf, I think it is from the leg work out.
Got some nice melon for tomorrow and also a bit of steak left over for a lunch sandwich. Looking forward to it.

September 29, 2011 2:08 AM NZDT

Skipping

cant skip. today was my best to date which was 800 jumps split into bouts ranging from 3 to about 100. Shoes on off, different wrist angles, looking up, down, jumping higher, faster, slower. Born to stand.
Feeling pretty good, clear minded. Leg muscles a bit tired  - mornings are becoming a bit cooler so cycled to work.

September 26, 2011 2:16 AM NZDT

It's all about Planning

After spending so much time preparing meals, snack exercising and then wondering what I am going to do with the day it hit me that I need to plan and prepare. Maybe a bit slow off the blocks not to realize that I have to prepare 2 meals and a snack in the first 5 hours of the day..... well anyway, I get in now. All prepared for tomorrow. Exercises after work.

Become a lot more organized without alcohol. Usually cook and drink and then watch DVD etc. Now start to get dinner ready, run the bath for me and my daughter and eat dinner, have a cup of tea, wash the dishes, think about the next day.
Less headachy today. I am going to try to incorporate a Yoga stretch for 20 mins into my routine to, downloaded the app on my ipad so first step taken. Lets see how long it takes me to execute.

weekend update

Should have wrote this blog this morning since energy levels & frame of mind is completely different. Anyway I didn't and I am writing a before I go to bed again. Have managed to get through a wedding and 2 rugby games without wandering from the PCP path. Completed my exercise routine this morning while my daughter watched TV (kinda messed up paradox since I am doing this to be in peak condition for her and as a result she gets to watch more TV!).  Enjoy making the meals and eating through the day but did get a bit hungry this evening but go through it with a cup of tea and a couple of grapes. Not difficult to get some flavor going with a few pieces or fresh basil thrown in. My body feels like it has just reached the point to build in itself, until this point I think it has been climbing out a hole in the ground. Bit headachy and irritable during the day, maybe from lack of sleep, maybe cause of the million things going on around me that I have to take care of. Went to the golf range for the first time in 6 months and lower back felted a bit fatigued. See how it is tomorrow. The second biggest reason to do this is to get rid of my nagging back pain I have had for about a year and a half so hoping to see some progress in this. Apart from that ... I want a beer!! No I don't. calves have recovered.

Real Start?

By yesterday my muscle pain had normalized and I had almost forgot I was on this conditioning program. the diet lets me eat more than I usually would through the day and I can feel my happy neurons released from my brain as I think about protein and carbs that are on their way. Winged it through the day on pre-prepared food from the supermarket (not really very pcp!).  Anyway, made a stop at the supermarket on the way home to pick up bags food which will be consumed in a controlled and weighed manner at regular intervals over the next few days. My right calf is also aching after I managed to do my 600 reps and finished with a "glory skip". I think the standing all day at work is tiring my legs out and will google it to find out some side effects. Once I know these, I can get my chair back.. Hot bath, hot cup of team and going to sit down and read scar tissue until I sleep. Choosing a new bath tomorrow, bling jacuzzi.  I think tomorrow is the real start.

Lunges

Muscles ache from the lunges and skipping. Felt better this morning compared to the last couple of days so I suppose I am starting to get in condition instead of just ache. Lower back muscles are pretty sore and being careful not so pull anything. I think it is from them being slightly fatigued rather than serious pain. Had the intention on Sat to go the full hog and give up booze all together but by Sat evening I realized how much I enjoy tasty food and a rink so moderately had a few.

Pre-Dalek walk

Beat of Friday Demons, Drink demons, drinking and watching rugby demons and came home to have dinner and see my daughter. She had her first ballet class today which was also the first chance for her to wear her tutu and ballet pumps. One of my motivations for doing this is to make sure I can  to learn with her - snowboarding, swimming, cycling whatever. She is at the start of learning all these things, I wan to make sure I am not at the end. It was a good decision to come home, she was elated, i was occupied. We took he dog for a short walk to where there is a pull up bar and managed one full one! Put her to bed and then finished my routine 949pm. My legs are cramping from the lunges, I am going to walk like a Dalek tomorrow. All part of the process. Borrowed some books that will replace alcohol. I chose ones about sex, drugs and drinking. When I am back on the booze I will read some self help ones. If I was not on this I would have gone out for dinner and drinks. KOL were live on MTV which was good background to the workout.

just starting

mentally prepared and looking forward to the experience and transition. If I can get in shape, relieve myself of back pain and snowboard and play golf. I will be happy. Did the exercises tonight at 9.30, the food was ok - feel like snacking but stopping myself. Stiff neck, shoulders, lower back. I think it is from standing at my desk. Plan on doing a set in the morning and also fitting 20 mins of yoga in a day ... ambitious.
