Day 90 - The Finish line where I start a new journey

A VERY BIG THANKS to my wife for helping me through this program. Except for the eating part, she was the one who did everything for me. Without her, I wouldn't have completed this program at all.

What can I say ! I started this program because I knew I was not eating right and I was not feeling right. I know I did not have a solid finish, but did the best I could and I am very very happy at what I have done. Thanks a lot for the help and support I got from Patrick, Teo, Sarah and my team especially Virg and James. Without the support I might have crashed earlier.

Things I learnt from this program are a lot. But the most important of all is the healthy eating habit and discipline. I am sure I will have very tough time getting out of this eating habit. I am for the most part addicted to my new eating style.

I started with a waist size of 36 and ended this program at 31. I am so happy with this. Everyone who has seen be before and now are stunned at the way I look. Thanks a lot to the PCP team. I had a target weight (70Kgs - which I now know makes no sense) when I started this program (@ 84 Kgs) and I have achieved it (@70.5 Kgs on day 90 which makes no sense again). the six-pack... I think has to wait until my back gets better. I am sure to do more fitness programs with the PCP team.

The 90 days journey ends here and a new journey starts from now... and the new journey starts with some shopping.... I need a stylist now... ;-)

Ok everyone, Thank you Thank you Thank you once again. Hope we will meet again in future. Wish you all a very Healthy Living... Cheers

PS: In the 90 days of this program there is something more that I understood about myself - I can never write BLOGS ! LoL.

Day 89

At the last leg. Feeling very proud for sticking to diet for 89 days. I am sure I will enjoy my first beer after day 90 and I am sure what will go through my mind when I finish it. The longest I have been on diet is 60 days and this was back in 1998. I am happy to know that I still can lock all those sugar and salt away for such a long time. Looking forward to Day 90 and the maintenance plan.

This has been a very interesting journey and I cannot believe how I look now compared to 89 days ago.

Met my friends on Saturday and everyone of them were surprised at how I look. I had to convince them that I am eating a LOT than before because they all thought I was starving. I told them about this program and my one-liner was 'You learn how to eat'.

Great work everyone. Looking forward to the graduation tomorrow. It will be a proud moment.

Day 82

It's been very long since I truly blogged.

With new food habits and new taste buds, I am looking forward to the completion of this program and getting back to real life situation. Just to make myself happy, I went to Uniqlo last night to check my trouser and shirt size and couldn't resist buying a slim fit jeans and shirt. hahaha. i couldn't get this smile off my face. I am loving this.

Almost missed my indulgence. Thank Patrick for reminding me that I shld be finishing it before day 80. Even though the portion was huge, I went back to that same restaurant where I had my first and second indulgence and was so so so so so happy finishing the last plate of cakes n tarts.

Looking forward to day 90. This has so far been a fantastic experience (except for my back pain :-) )

Cheers everyone... lets march towards the finish line....and continue this way of living....

Day 73

100% compliant with Diet.. the best I could do. Week 11 pic is up.

March 21, 2012 8:41 AM UTC

Day 67

back pain continues to spoil my days.. am looking forward to my diet being tuned to favor losing fat without workouts. Week 10 picture is up. but i think its worse than week 9. :-(

March 16, 2012 1:51 AM UTC

Day 62

Finally, was out of the box yesterday to get some burns. Did limited workouts...Chest dips, push ups, cycling and 8-min abs. That is all I did last night. Felt happy about it. But I have to say that working out after more than a week made me feel like I was back in Week 1.

I am hoping that eventually I will be back to my early morning workouts.. I miss my skipping...

Cheers everyone, have a good weekend.

March 14, 2012 1:49 AM UTC

Day 60

OK guys... I realize it well now. It is my body that I am trying to keep in good shape.. and I shld not be hurting it. I am doing my 8-min abs and ab workouts that doesn't hurt my lower back. Did my inclined pull-ups followed by the band workouts for back last night only to hurt myself again badly. I will rest until my back pain is gone. Until then, will walk, do workouts that will not hurt my back (have to try everything and find out which ones hurt). Leg workouts shld be OK. I will keep doing them. Will stick to the diet.

Indulgence not done yet. Planning to either finish it today or save it for Monday when I have visitors from the US. Definitely not keen though..

March 12, 2012 9:58 AM UTC

Day 58

Ok.. still recovering. Started to do walking and the 8min abs in the morning.. tried doing the squats and could make it. but unable to stretch my legs for many other workouts including the pistol squats. scared of doing all workouts.. esp the plank that works on the core.. don't want to hurt myself again and so taking it slow.

Diet on track but back still hurts. Regular visitations to the clinic in my calendar.. I am hating this..

March 9, 2012 6:50 AM UTC

Day 55

Diet continuing without any issues. But still not back to the workout schedule. Hoping to get well soon.

March 5, 2012 6:31 AM UTC

Day 51

OK.. week 8 picture is up. I am happy with where I am now. but still need to see those extra fat gone.. not sure if the remaining 4 weeks will do that magic... fingers crossed...I weighed 74.7Kgs yesterday when I took the picture after workout.

Honestly, after the first indulgence I felt so guilty for eating those tarts n cakes. But the past 2 weeks went by thinking about the next indulgence. Here it is and I am not really sure what to eat. Too much googling on how many calories a piece of cake is, a macaroon is, a piece of this n that is... well.. totally confused. I am sure I will love this indulgence but not quite sure what I want to have. So the indulgence has to wait until later this week.

Diet is going well.. sticking to it.. the AMAYW veggies is just not working with me for the evening snack. I am just eating very little cause 1 hr after the dinner.. I am still full. For now, I am sticking to the numbers from last week for lunch time veggies. The part I love about my diet plan are the Yogurt and egg whites... just loving that Yogurt to the core !

400ml milk in the morning is just too much though (200 after workout and 200 for breakfast). I am sure my body is not liking it either.. If possible would like to see that changed to 200 yogurt and 200 milk. :-)

Ok everyone, sorry for boring you all again... lets finish this week.. Looking forward to the rest day. Cheers n Bye!

March 2, 2012 3:59 AM UTC

Day 48

Done... Another week done.. .well, almost.. its rest day tomorrow and shld be easy ... Workouts completed, breakfast done, morning snack done.. looking forward to lunch now. At home today... so relaxing a bit... rainy day again in tokyo..

the 1 min plank killed me this morning... since I have started doing planks along with the 8min abs in the evening, i thought it shld be fine. My plank for the past 2 days have been 1 min long.. assuming it will be easy, did the planks along with my other workouts and 'OH GOD' i had to scream towards the end...that pains a lot.

Overall, so far I have been able to do all workouts without trouble... and with pain... but these pull ups and push ups are the worst of all. i wish i could get better with those...

All fine otherwise... Looking forward to another week of training and diet ... Cheers everyone... Enjoy the weekend.

March 1, 2012 6:18 AM UTC

Day 47

Body pain is gone. Its only my knee now. Using knee protection for my workouts otherwise feeling good. Workouts went well except for the Inclined pull-ups and Kungfu panda... oops.. kungfu sit-ups. anything that involves hanging on to something is a toughie.. I could hardly get myself up during the 5th set of inclined pull ups. For some reason the beginning of the 6th set was OK.. but ended with me dropping down at the end minimum rep. BANG !

Started doing 8-min abs regularly now in the evenings. Also included is 3 reps of Plank (gradually trying to increase time... went from 50secs to 60 secs yesterday). The pain at the end of it is just PAINFUL !

Once again had custom size sushi today for lunch. Enjoyed it... walked past the Burger King shop and wondered how many times I had a full plate of sushi for lunch and bought myself a Whopper just for the taste ! WOW. I don't think I can finish that quantity now. Just too much !

Out of curiosity, read a few blog entries of people who have already completed this program. Mostly to see their pictures and understand how much of a difference the second half of the program can bring. WOW ! Mind Blowing ! I am both motivated by the difference from week 7 to 12 and also worried. I want to be there.. I want to have that body that most people got in week 12. I am just hoping I will be there...

Anyway.... just noticed today that I have totally got addicted to coffee.. Coffee was never part of my daily life and Black coffee... NEVER ! An occasional White Chocolate Mocha is what I usually had when someone invited me to a coffee shop. But now, 2 tall Starbucks coffee almost everyday (at least 1). On days I do not have one, I definitely feel different. Most cases, sleepy. mmmm... shld get rid of this soon. Will stick to my lovely green tea soon...

Knee Breakfast

February 29, 2012 5:05 AM UTC

Day 46

My knee is killing me now. Almost stopped my leg workouts this morning. but after a short break, went on with them. got up early to finish all the workout on time to take my daughter to school. Heavy snowfall here in Tokyo this morning. Its still that way.. And its freezing cold out there. I am just hoping the doc will not stop me from jump rope and leg workouts.

Cheers everyone.. take care

February 28, 2012 3:07 AM UTC

Big mistake day

Short of time in the mornings I split up my workouts the way it apparently shouldn't be split. Will be back to doing everything in the morning. Feeling bad. Shld have completed everything this morning.

Read today's message. Was waiting for this actually. Saw a few of my fellow PCP'ers pictures and I see most of them lost a lot around their belly already but I am not loosing as much as I expect to. Today's message helps me understand why.

Not in a great mood this morning cause of some screw-ups at work. Working on a project for nearly 4 yrs now and almost nearing closure when the customer is pissing me off to the core with delays and no action plans on their side. Wonder when this will end.

Anyway... Cheers everyone..

Pleasure and Pain

It is with great physical pain and emotional pleasure I am writing this blog post..

Damn those legs hurt.. and I feel like soon I will have  white feathered wings coming out of my body like the one from X-Men. OUCH ! It is like I am back in Week 1 when we just started and had extreme pain.

Workouts are on track. Made a custom setup in the balcony to do the inclined push ups and that helps a lot. V-Sit was at its best this morning. The new let's-not-count practice with the skipping helps. I set the timer to 16mins and just kept going. The 2 min buffer is to make up the tripping time.

Diet is on track but its just tooooo much to eat. For now, I am sticking to the Week 6's veggie quantity. Lets see how things go.

Oh and about the pleasure... Have a look at the picture below. Walked inside a sushi bar around 2 PM and I was the only person there. Told the staff about PCP and asked them if they could make me a Tuna sushi plate with 100gms tuna and 120gm rice and they did it. That was one fantastic lunch. Of course I had 190gms of veggies before I went out for lunch.

Lunch done... looking forward to my yogurty snack...mmmm... and a few meetings... oops !

Day 42

OK, 6 weeks done. Will be crossing the half mark this week. Happy about it in one way but again the sudden increase in my  weight makes me feel sad about this. Just to make myself happy, went out shopping looking for a jeans. Was getting bored with wearing my 36Inches jeans during weekends and finally got myself a fitting one.. My waist is at 33 now. Happy but I want to see how much more it will go down. Did my skipping along with one set of 20 squats, lunges, sit-ups and the 8 minute abs workout. Saw the new set of workouts and the skipping is kinda confusing. Anyway, will try out tomorrow and see what happens.

Looking forward to another week of workouts and new diet. Enjoy everyone.. Cheers

February 24, 2012 5:46 AM UTC

Day 41

Here we are at the end of Week 6. Workouts are going well and so is the pain. I still think my diet needs to have less carbs. I look myself and think that flubby belly still is there. Wondering when my abs will get skinny and muscular..

My new set of bands arrived yesterday and it feels so good to work on different bands for different workouts. Doing the 8 minute abs every now and then. Stretching is still not part of my workouts. doing it when possible.

Everything else OK.. looking forward to tomorrow's rest day. Have a great weekend folks... Cheers

February 23, 2012 7:44 AM UTC

Day 40

What a disastrous start !! Couldn't do 100 skips without tripping at least twice until I reached 1000. I honestly thought of stopping my workout and doing the rest in the evening. But went ahead with it to finish it all.

In the process of getting the vibe back, pushed myself hard during push ups and for the first time my first 2 sets were in the normal way. The 10th push up in the second set was a killer.. I felt the vibration in my body.. third and fourth sets were partially knee on the floor type.

Rest of the workouts as usual were fine. The last reps have started pushing me to my limits..

Started having pain in my left paravertebral muscle since monday. today was much worse. had to visit the doc and take a shot. i hope it feels better by tomorrow morning. Pain was purely due to me lifting up heavy items on saturday. Probably the tight band had something to do as well.

Went out with a few friends for lunch and had Thai food. A plate of spicy stir fried chicken with rice. I am sure I ate close to the prescribed quantity. But I learnt that fish sauce is one of the ingredients. Hope Teo or Patrick can tell me if its OK.

Rest all fine. Loving the eggs. Today's message helps.

Cheers

February 22, 2012 6:35 AM UTC

Day 39

It's Day 39 and I am looking forward to crossing the half way mark of 45 days. The one person who is absolutely shocked at how I look is my wife. I keep convincing her that I have more fat to loose (around my belly). It was a sunny morning and it is cloudy now.. Got up early and started the workout. I have to say, I think I suffer now from the New Rope Syndrome. The new jump rope I bought with an automatic counter has string made of rubber and it bounces right off the floor and straight to my ankle. Damn that was way too many stops.. .around 9 I think.. but the counter works well. Also shows how many calories I burn based on my weight setting.. this morning it was 177. Not sure if its right. I will try using it for the rest of the week but if the tripping continues, then I am moving back to my old one. Afterall, what else to do if not to count during skipping !
Pistol Squats are fine so far. But I am sure if the reps increase that will burn a lot.

Other workouts are fine so far. but exhaustion hits me twice during the entire session. First time after the skipping and leg workouts and second time right before abs.

I am totally not a weight freak. But I weighed 76.4 Kgs this morning. Trust me, I am not a weight freak. I check only once a day. :-D LoL

Have you ever tried the app Sketch Me! for Iphone ? I am loving it.

Failing Happily !

I remember the first time I failed in exams.. I was in 6th standard and I failed in a mid-term test. Scored 26/100 marks in Mathematics. Passing score was 35/100. I kept my report card hidden in my bag for a very long time and kept giving excuses at school. My dad used to drop me at school on his way to work everyday. He kept asking me for my report card until one day he walked me to my classroom and asked one of my classmates about the report card. The most expected answer from my friend to date was... it has already been given and Sashi has failed in the exam. There were only 3 people inside the classroom and the slap my dad gave me got me across the classroom so fast that I didn't even see the 3 guys escape the classroom. I slowly pulled out the report card from my bag and my dad signed on it. I remember this very well cause that was the first time I failed in my exams. I felt so bad that I had failed, that my dad slapped me and that my friends saw that... I vowed never to fail again in my exams forever and until now, I have kept failing almost every time I write an exam. hehe.. the slaps are not continuing anyway.. that way I am happy.. :-)... But what I meant in my title is different.

It was a bright sunny morning.. had issues with my skipping again.. I think I should get a new jump rope now. Any suggestions ? I would prefer a rope with one of those automatic counters. Makes life easy may be. Couldn't find them here in Japan. I am sure that is because I don't know what to search for .. ;-)... Pistol Squats are OK so far. But I am sure if the reps increase, that will be painful.. Push-ups are back again... did my best to do the normal way, but had to go back to the knee on the floor type. Chest dips are getting deeper. Happy with that... Standing ovation caused more pain than ever. I think I got them right. Shoulder fly was strong too..

I felt so much pain with the push-ups and standing ovation today that I couldn't complete the last few reps without stopping for 3-4 secs and screaming out loud.. I mean really LOUD... So, I think I am failing here. Which is good cause I believe only when I fail I reach the limits where my body burns more. So I am failing happily..

Weighed 77.1Kgs this morning. Happy with the progress.

My elder daughter was diagnosed with Influenza Type - A yesterday. Sad thing. Apart from that, everything is fine.

Ok folks, that is a lot. Not sure how many of you felt like leaving a TLDR comment.. :-)... Anyway, another week... another diet.. few new workouts... Happy Failing and Smiling.. Cheers

February 17, 2012 6:04 AM UTC

Day 34

Last night's skipping was fun.. it was a cold night and there was mild snow fall. it was fun skipping while watching the snow fall... I have to say, skipping before dinner was a bit difficult than doing it in the morning. But the knee has to rest a bit more. So this morning again, did all workouts except skipping. Will be home early today for skipping. Tomorrow being the rest day, I think my knee can heal well and get ready for Sunday's training.

Still waiting for my new set of bands to be delivered. The one I have now is to be blamed for the mild back pain. The double Katana workout with this band is too tight...

I would be interested to know how many of us are able to do 25 leg ups without a break and how sets. I could do the first set without a break. The remaining 3 sets are with a break. Not sure if I am making any mistake here. But my thighs pain a lot while doing this workout.

Planks have become a bit easier than how I felt the first and second time I did it. This is good.

Looking forward to Week 6 already.. C'on everyone.. lets sing this together.. my voice in solo sux badly ! LoL...

Cheers and have a great weekend ahead.

February 16, 2012 7:33 AM UTC

Day 33 - GREEN

Doc says I am good to go.. but little at a time... so the skipping part has to wait until evening for tomorrow too. If things improve, I shld be back to my routine by Sunday. Since Saturday is only skipping day, I shld be fine with it. Planning to do skipping at the park from tonight so I can jump on the ground or grass.. instead of the concrete. Made new arrangements for my inclined pull ups. so I shld start doing this in my balcony instead of the dining table or park. I hope it improves.

So many people have started noticing my weight loss. Most of them shocked at the fact that I have lost almost 6Kgs in just a month. I told them, more to go. I weighed 78.0 this morning. Forgot to drink my milk this morning.  I felt full anyway... so nothing much to worry there. Rest is all as planned.

I am getting smaller and so my trousers are getting bigger. It was so funny to see my pants drop down when I was getting ready this morning to work while searching for my belt.haha.. I am loving it. Thank you everyone for being with me in this journey.. its so much fun and excitement than anything.

Waited too long to buy a new book on clownfishes. Excited to have it with me. Have to read it from tonite. I am sure I will love it.

Day 32

Was a wet day... Workouts went well .. I have just started noticing the pain in my right knee. It has sharply increased and now every time I bend my knee it pains and I hear a clicking sound.. no pain while walking or resting.. only when I bend n stretch my leg. Have to visit the doc but worried if the doc will ask me to rest the knee for a while.

wondering if this could be cause of the skipping on concrete floor everyday. Thinking of doing it in the ground from tomorrow..

Lets see...

February 14, 2012 6:16 AM UTC

Day 31

The day started bad.... first was the coordination with skipping and after the floor jump I almost threw up. Thought I will not be able to continue at all... but pushed myself to finish all the workouts. the leg up exercise was tough. I couldn't to 20 reps continuously from the second set. I had to stop at 12 or 15 every time until I finished it.

Had lunch at a nice restaurant.. salad, grilled snapper (with some chinese sauce) and ice tea... I have to say the sauce was a bit salty so kept it to min. Even then, almost 10mins after lunch I felt dizzy. Not sure why but I think it could be because of the sudden increase in salt intake..

8 min abs video looks great.. have to try that tonight. planning to do it everyday before dinner. Lets see how it goes..

I am going to call this the Phase 2 of PCP.. its day 31.. first day of phase 2.

Have a great Phase 2 everyone.. Cheers

February 13, 2012 5:44 AM UTC

Day 30

and counting... its been a fun ride so far. 30 days done. I was so happy when I finished the skipping today as I found my mistakes and corrected them. But felt so bad towards the end as the chest dip and v-sit were partial failures. had to do some push ups and plank to feel better.

I knew the trick to the v-sit. but just couldn't do it after the leg-up which already took away my energy... with the chest dip, it was trouble with my chairs and am doing this for the first time.. I am sure the chest dip will improve over time.

The band workouts are perfect... feel the burn everytime..

haven't posted my picture yet... will do it later...

Cheers

February 12, 2012 8:28 AM UTC

Day 29

Weighed in 78.4Kgs this morning. that is cool.

Both yesterday and this morning I struggled a lot with skipping. Max i could do without tripping was about 200. lost patience today so went on till 1500 jumps. damn..

all other workouts went well.. struggled with the inclined pull ups.. but i shld say it was much better than earlier. Will be getting my new band tomorrow for the shoulder workouts. the existing one is a bit hard and my hip pains when i pull them over head towards the last few reps...

A new nano reef is on its way... for a pair of clowns... Will post pics when ready

Cheers n have fun working out.. Have a great week ahead.

Day 27 & The Indulgence

Hello everyone... am so sleepy after my fantastic lunch. Caesar salad, roasted duck leg for the veggies and protein.. bread for carb... and then this.... (attached pic). I could have gone without the indulgence part.. but then, wasn't sure what is ahead and so went on with it... I honestly felt so bad after eating this.. planning to do some extra workouts tomorrow morning along with the skipping...

Today's workout felt much easier than the ones tomorrow. Found a way to do the V-sit.. thanks to fellow PCP'er Sophie.. .Thanks Sophie... But at the end, still did not feel better as my abs were not paining enough.. so went on to do 1 set of situps (20) and 1 set leg ups (15)... felt much better... I definitely need another set of bands.. will be shopping soon again after looking at next week's workouts...

OK.. here is an obsession now.. I have set my mind to reach 70Kgs by the end of this program.  I am confident I will be healthy by the end of this program, but this weight thing is in my mind now and because of which I have started checking my weight everyday since Monday 06Feb. I know this is not right and will stop doing it soon... But to my surprise, I weighed 79.4Kgs yesterday and this morning was 78.8Kgs. Not sure if the scale is showing the correct weight... I am both happy and confused. happy because I like the reduced weight... confused cause not sure if the human body is capable of loosing 600gms in just one day. either way, the weight obsession is what I will be fighting for the next few days...

Getting close to the Week 4 closure.. Feeling better, eating better, and happy with it cause I don't have anymore craving for anything... feeling good.

Ok folks, lets keep going.... Cheers

Day 25

I didn't really understand if I should be happy or sad about today's training message when I read it during my breakfast. By now, I understand it. Yes I want this indulgence. I am sure I can enjoy and handle it well. Friday's lunch it is at my favorite restaurant in Akasaka. I am looking forward to it.

On the usual grounds, skipping went fine but tripping was at its highest during the 500s. managed to get that off my way and went on to reach the goal. I thought squats was tough.. God this floorjump was even worse. But I didn't do it as shown in the video.. did it as shown in the training sheet. Completed it but it was PAINFUL ! Pushups got better. 3 sets of normal pushups and 1 set of knee on the floor pushup. I have to say, the knee on the floor type was a breeze....lol..Couldn't find the Chicken wing video under the Videos link. but did it well. i felt the heat on my shoulders.. .interesting exercise. My band was perfect for this one. Last comes the V-sit for the abs. failed miserably. couldn't get the top half and bottom half coordination well. Is there an alternative for this one ? I can keep trying the v-sit but until I get it right, any alternative will help my abs a lot I think..

Other than that, its all fine.. diet is fine. except I feel the lunch is a bit heavy... probably cause i have no carbs for dinner my breakfast gets in easier... and then lunch is struggling with me....haha.. what a way to say that.

My colleague looks at my week 1 and 4 pictures and said....ewwww.... i don't want to see that...hehe.. not that I wanted her to see.. but I think I am encouraged by that.. never look down... looking forward to moving ahead...

Next......

February 7, 2012 7:20 AM UTC

Day 24

Rainy morning and had to compromise on the inclined pull ups.. Apart from that, everything went fine. The new plank workout took me down so quickly....but at least this is easier than the leg-ups...

weighed myself this morning and I was at 79.5Kgs after workout before breakfast. Its been 4 yrs since I was in the 70s. The last time i was 79kgs probably for 2 days.... that is when I quit my self planned diet and went into the "getting fat" mode again.. I hope i can get down to 70kgs by the end of week 12.

Cheers

February 6, 2012 8:22 AM UTC

Day 23

It was a very cold morning. Walked to the balcony to do the workouts worried about my health because I had cold and it was at its peak last night. But after the 1100 jumps, i felt better... continued with other workouts. Did 2 sets of push-ups the normal way. the third round was as usual with the knees on the floor. First morning without any carbs the previous night and I have to say at the end of the workouts, I felt half dead. Took sometime for me to be back on my feet. Quick shower and then the most expected meal of the day... Breakfast !! Never felt so easy like today to finish the breakfast...gone in a jiffy... all well.. looking forward to loose some weight this week..

Cheers....

February 5, 2012 11:30 AM UTC

Day 22

Day out at Tokyo Dome.. tired.. but the kids enjoyed..overall a good day.. need some good rest before the morning's work out.. diet and workouts on track. the week's picture is up. not sure if I see any difference but had a couple of guys at work say I walk tall... which is good..feeling mild pain in my right knee and ankle .. will check again tomorrow morning.. i think its cause of the long day at the dome.. shld get ready for tomorrow's workouts..

OK.. see you all tomorrow.. gud luk with week 4. Cheers

February 4, 2012 1:54 PM UTC

Day 20 & 21

So, here we are at day 21. 3 weeks down. few more to go... its been fun so far. amazed to see how the body can transform in just 3 weeks for proper diet and work outs. Energy level and strength are up. I am liking it this way. Looking forward to my diet for week 4. New workouts look fun and interesting.

For the first time in ages, I was able to do 8 push-ups the proper way this morning. Felt relaxed after the 1000 jumps and wanted to try some more.. so did the push-ups. i think i will give it a try next time during the day's workouts..

Awrite for now, lets welcome week 4. Cheers

February 2, 2012 4:03 AM UTC

Day 19

A good night's sleep does the trick !

learnt it through testing though. Sleeping well makes it easy for me to finishing the work outs. This is just good. I still remember day 1 when I had to do 50 jumps sets and I would feel dead tired after each set.. Cannot believe how well my body's energy level has recovered.. and I am loving it.. i think i have to get another jump rope. i feel its a little short in length... goes into my weekend shopping list.

tried to do push-ups today instead of the inclined pull ups.. couldn't find a place suitable to do this.. so went back to the inclined pull ups..first set and the first half of the second set went fine.. .the rest were all painful..

Breakfast is too much, too much and just too much. but, i am finishing it... read today's message... that helps understand changes to the body. the issue I have now is with my skin drying out.. its tooooo dry... not sure why...

Anyway, things are fine.. smooth and moving along... looking forward to finishing week 3.

Cheers everyone, have a great day.

Day 18

Tough ! Lunge and leg up on the same day is always tough.. but, finished the work out and took the next challenge - breakfast. The biggest question I have everyday while drinking my milk is, how much is not too much... cause I use honey to finish it. eating my morning snack now...couldn't get much sleep last night cause of the kids..so skipping was not as good as expected until I reached 300. but did an extra 100 jumps for my satisfaction..push-ups, push-ups push-ups... i wish i could do it like my colleague who does 55 everyday...lets see.....

have a great day folks... see you soon.. Cheers

Day 17

Went to bed last night after reading all the messages and comments.. Thanks everyone... A night full of bad dreams and got up sharp at 6:30...went straight to skipping.. A fantastic morning with the sun just creeping up ... and the jumps went like a breeze.. what a feeling ... stopped at 360 and then straight to 700 and finished at 865... Every other workout went well... of course except for the inclined pull ups. what A toughie ! I hope this will improve over time... About the food, there is a decrease in the dinner quantity but otherwise its all the same... still feel the breakfast and lunch are heavy.. considering the fact that I eat breakfast at 8:30 AM and lunch at 1:00 PM, with the morning snack in between, it is just TOO MUCH FOOD ! But, finishing every meal..

The new band I bought, is perfect. Thanks to Patrick for suggesting me a good one. I don't think my earlier band was any good.. :-)

Awrite everyone, off to some work now.. Eat well, work out with a smile... we will move ahead faster....

Day 16

Sorry, but I have to say this... The Day 14 message was a bummer.. Ever since I read that message, my mind has started playing tricks with me.. I am hoping to read some motivating messages this week..

Anyway, back to the usual words... Workout completed this morning.. except for the push-ups everything went interesting. I am sure my hands need more power to push my shoulders up and my upper body needs to loose some weight too.. wondering when I can do the regular push ups...

Overall, my energy level is up, but the Day 14 message screwed up my mind. Hoping to recover my vibe today with some good reading..

Cheers everyone.

Day 15

Finally, the week's diet is out.. except for the dinner portion, everything remains the same.

Workouts going fine except for the incline pull ups. Still struggling with it. Week 3 photo is up.

Feeling tired now, will hit the bed soon.. Until tomorrow... ciao...

Day 13 & 14

OK.. here I am at the end of Week 2. Checked my weight and no change since last week. The week 2 diet has done no damage. Will need to take a picture to see if there is any change in my shape. :-)..Work outs going well. For the first time I used a band that really made things hard for me. Thank God my old one snapped. my biceps are paining even now. OUCH !

Week 3 workouts look fine. I should be able to go on.. Looking forward to the diet plan. More than me, my wife is concerned a lot !

Good night everybody.. will write again tomorrow.. Cheers

Day 12

Very good workout.. For the first time I did incline pull up at a hip high bar at the park near my house. This one is tough. the first round went fine.. second and third were very difficult. Hoping to get better as I practice. snapped my band today and started looking for a new one. Finally found them with Patrick's help. But the tube length is only 1.2m. I definitely think these are very short and I will not be able to do some of the work outs like davinci for eg. wondering how to do the forward shoulder raise tomorrow. Lets see...

Otherwise, everything went fine today. felt totally full after the veggies and protein. but, sent the carbs in quickly.. am full. wondering how to get the fruits in now.. LoL

Cheers everyone. am looking forward to the last workout for the week tomorrow... Saturday being a skipping day.

January 25, 2012 12:00 PM UTC

Day 11

cool... awesome.. great.. this is how i felt when i finished my jump rope today... 271, 421, 664. I kept pushing until the pain hits me harder.. But this feeling changed up-side-down with my last round of lunges. OH GOD ! Painful it was to finish the last set... Rowing as usual gave me no pain. read Sarah's message on that but not sure if I will feel it tomorrow. lets see.. The leg-up part has improved a LOT !and the last set was equally painful.

the afternoon snack almost slipped and became a early night snack cause of multiple meetings at different customer sites. But, dinner was good... 2 indian dosa with chicken fried with onions and pepper.. thank you wifey ! All set for my last set of fruits.. and then straight to bed for a long deep sleep... Hopefully....

Feeling great about coming this far.. hoping to continue this pace and reach my destiny....Cheers everyone. Good Night  and Sleep Tight !

Day 10

Finally reached the double digit days. Great going. I have to say this. I had almost 10 people at work asking me about my diet when I opened up my lunch box yesterday. I earned a nick name Rabbit Sashi ! But, the salad was too good.

Working from home today. So a bit relaxed morning after the work out. It was a fantastic start with the jump rope. i stopped at 321, 521 and finished at 662. All other workouts went perfectly well except for the incline pull-up. I have to make an alternative to that today. Cannot waste that workout.

I felt totally exhausted again at the end of the workout. Almost got me. But as Sarah once said, my body is building up muscles now and that is good.  Breakfast was 2 Indian flat breads with stir fried veggies and egg omelet (with onion, chilies and black pepper) .. yummy... waiting for my snack now..

Awrite folks, until tomorrow.. Cheers

January 23, 2012 2:16 AM UTC

Day 9

VERY cold morning. but the 600 jumps had me remove my jacket ! 4th set of the Lunge almost brought me down to my knees. But, got it right. the band workouts are interesting. the first set is always easy and the last one is the most painful part of the whole training. I am learning new things everyday now. Feeling great. Leg-up has improved and I am sure it will continue to improve. Have lost some weight now. Hoping to loose more weight and the single pack (the big fat belly). Workouts are taking longer and I shld get up a little earlier. Felt guilty for not being able to help my wife this morning. bad.. too bad... am eating my morning snack now. strawberries and grapes (sweet and sour).

loads of things to do today at work. so, bye for now.. Cheers and keep up the good work.

January 22, 2012 3:47 AM UTC

Day 8

Welcome to Week 2. Work out completed. Incline pull-up was a mess. my dining table is not tall enough. I have to find alternatives. Breakfast was HUGE !! I had 2 indian flat breads for the carb, and a nice salad with egg 2 ways (poached and boiled). got the yellow part of the boiled one out.  Got some questions and will post them on Q&A sec. and hey, my week 2 picture is out. I believe I have lost 1.5kgs from week 1 workouts and diet.

Looking forward to Week 2. Cheers

Day 7

OK. here we are.. at the end of first week. Went out shopping and came back with loads of veggies, fruits and some protein. Got many questions regarding the diet. will post them on Q&A.

The quantities mentioned in the diet look like more than what I normally eat. But lets see how this week goes.

Lets roll !!

January 20, 2012 3:17 AM UTC

Day 6

Felt Exhausted after the workout. Not sure why...

Tried doing push-ups the normal way but couldn't do more than 3. So went back to the knees down type. Other work outs went fine..

Not really sure why I felt very exhausted after the workout today. wondering if I did anything wrong or if it was because of the cold weather today. Was good to see snow fall while skipping rope...

Saw the message regarding the diet from next week... I hope I can stay focused and follow the diet. Also looking forward to improving my kitchen skills...:-)

January 19, 2012 9:22 AM UTC

Day 5

today day started well again... the pain is almost gone and the body is getting tuned to waking up early and also to the exercise. This is good..

Today the way i got myself up from the futon after i woke up was a big change.. Just a week back my wife told me that I am getting up like a 60yr old man.. needed too much support with my hands to get off the floor ... Today though, i got up like a young man...i feel better.. i feel stronger...My energy level is up...This is good.

The biggest question i have in my mind today is about the half food making me feel full !!! How could this happen.. Today at lunch I had half plate of rice/chapche korean food and felt really full. How can half plate make me feel full when I have always had full plates... This is good...

but what is the reason behind this ?

While feeding my fishes this morning, I found one of my Yellow Tangs dead.. was shocked to see that... RIP... This alone is bad..

Looking forward to tomorrow's exercising.. feeling better and stronger..

Day 4

And, by the way... we have crossed the half way mark for Week-1... the excitement continues... and its just the beginning... Keep up the good work everyone... stay focused !

January 18, 2012 8:52 AM UTC

Day 4

It was a wonderful morning.. the cold breeze, early sun.....

so, once again.. got up early.. much earlier than yesterday... was wide awake at 5AM.. kept myself busy with my mails and a little facebooking.. started workout right at 7.

Skipping Rope (yeah, jumprope) went well.. 4th and the 5th round had a miss.. but went on to 75jumps instead of stopping at 60. Hope this is fine.

Legs are getting tuned to daily workouts. Pain was very little in the morning and now its not even 10% of that. Hopefully, from tomorrow I will not feel any leg pain. The 4th set of push-ups was really tough. Did 4 sets (8,8,8,6). The last one was very painful !!

Legs came up much further than the they did the first time I did the leg-up for abs. I am seeing these as improvements. Good boy.. keep going...

Looking forward to working out tomorrow....

PS: my lunch pic.. ;-)... even with half plates I am feeling full... which is good.

Day 3

What a start today..

When I went to bed yesterday, I really thought the dinner was not enough. It was half plate of my most favorite food (Chapathi with chicken curry - both home made). But then, got myself busy with work and kids then eventually slept. My thighs were paining badly and I thought this morning will be a tough one to go through.

My body wakes up early if I have less food. So got up again at 6. was on the bed, rolling until 7 and got up listening to the strum. Work out started right away and What a start today....

I was impressed at my improvement with the jump rope. went on to finish all the exercise right on time to get my daughter ready for her school. it was a rush rush morning from there until now..... finally feel like the train just stopped and here goes my blog for the day.

I know.. I know... boring eh ! will try something different from Week 2. ;-)

Cheers everyone. keep up the good work and keep encouraging the rest !

January 16, 2012 10:20 AM UTC

Day 2

Day 2 started well. Jump Rope was fun and the body seems to like the pace. Changed to knees on the floor version of the push-up. Couldn't get the legs high enough on the leg-up. Will keep trying..The Lunge was perfect. My thighs are paining which is good.. i did the exercise correct...working out in the morning was fantastic...The half-portion is working well. Looking forward to Day 3. Good luck everyone. Cheers

January 15, 2012 1:38 AM UTC

Day 1

looking forward to look different...I am not a blogger.. more of a talker... will try my best to keep up with writing something here.

just finished exercising. i think I am exercising after about 7 yrs and it wasn't easy. cutting down on the food part shouldn't be tough.

Either way, looking forward to a tough Week-1.

PS: who was that who said over the next few weeks the exercises will make us cry.....??
