Day 90

Its done!
I have the following thoughts and observations:
- The best thing about this programme was that there were no gizmos or supplements. It follows what we all know - diet and exercise are both needed, and are the only things needed to get weight off and to get fit.
- the support was incredible, very well done Patrick and team.
- the support from fellow PCPers was amazing. Congratulations everyone!
- It seems to me that this is sustainable, (lets see in 6 months!).
- the time necessary for training is not very demanding and the lifestyle changes not severe (or have already been made), so keeping this up appears to be easier than expected (again time will tell)

All in all I had a great time, got some great results and made lots of new friends.

Have a great christmas everyone and all the very best for 2012!

p.s. see you all again on the next the Kung Fu Project........

Day 89

Weight yesterday was 78.4kg. 10kg off from when I started on the PCP. That I count as a major achievement!

Day 87

Still have trouble with the Creep. Its going to be one of my post PCP objectives, along with the pull up...

Day 84

Went to a personal training session today after 3 months...my trainer was shocked to see me....could not believe his eyes...

December 5, 2011 8:21 AM SGT

Day 82

Back from the NZ holiday. For those who have not been, I heartily recommend it.
Weight day 82 was 79.8 kg, same as last week. Lets see where I end up.
Apart from the lovely setting, the best thing about my trip was that I had more than one indulgence day, but with PCP discipline, did things very differently than I would have in the past. I think that will be the biggest takeaway for me...

November 30, 2011 4:44 AM SGT

Day 76

early morning nz time, I was expecting a training message on the next weeks exercises, but saw the post on taking photos....its very clever. Joe Weider, eat your heart out...!

November 28, 2011 2:45 PM SGT

Day 75

In NZ on holiday. Blogging is going to be patchy this week. Managed to get through the exercise on a couple of days, with a couple of days spent doing other stuff. Lets see if this break slows me down....its good to have the protein back at dinner time!

November 23, 2011 7:45 AM SGT

Day 70

6*3 went well. This week was good except Sunday, when I went hiking and had no energy for PCP workout.
Next week I am on holiday....will try to stay away from the temptations of NZ wine..

November 22, 2011 8:37 AM SGT

Day 69

Weight is now 79.8kg. I think this is the lowest I have been since records began..i.e. 1994.
I dont seem to be as hungry, suggesting that the diet is sufficient/body has adapted.

November 20, 2011 12:37 PM SGT

Day 67

I think besides me (of course), the dog is the most happy with my PCP programme, on account of all the egg yolks. Will soon have to put him on the PCP..!

November 16, 2011 8:50 PM SGT

Day 63

The 5 min skipping sets for day 63 went suprisingly easily. Perhaps it was because I knew there was nothing else to be done!
Look forward to week 10 workouts. Bring it on!

November 14, 2011 8:21 AM SGT

Day 61

Day 61 weight is 80.4 (down from 88.2). Looking forward to breaking the 80 kg mark this week...

Day 59

Waiting to see how the diet pans out for the rest of the programme. Based on what I am eating now, I could eat this way everyday. I quite like the portion control, my body seems to have adjusted to the portions. Even with the exercise, I think I can keep doing this on a daily basis after the programme finishes. If I am still sort of on the programme three months after it finishes, that will have been a real achievement!

November 8, 2011 8:59 PM SGT

Day 55

Has anyone gone shopping for new clothes yet?

November 7, 2011 7:58 AM SGT

Day 54

Progress:

Weight this morning 81.4 kg (starging weight 88.2 kg). Not bothering with body fat measurements for now. The machine gets confused when I change the weight. Will get bodyfat professionally checked after this is over.

Otherwise the diet is going well....instead of a big indulgence day, I've had a couple of indulgences last weekend, so I am good...

Day 51

The new exercises are taking a lot longer than I expected. I manage to get through them all (except the dips and pull-ups), but need to break up the workout. With the increased diet, am conscious that there is less leeway in missing exercises...need to use up all that egg white protein and yogurt....

November 2, 2011 8:01 AM SGT

Day 49

week 8 workouts - bring it on!

oh no, the creep is back...

November 1, 2011 7:55 AM SGT

Day 48

Their is some weight loss, but the pictures are not so clear...

Day 47

had 2 evenings of dinner commitments that broke the rules. back on the programme from today....
weight is down to 82.6. photo to follow...

October 27, 2011 7:56 PM SGT

Day 43

This weeks workout seems to take longer, not so much because of intensity/recovery, but more reps. Do others find this to be the case?

October 25, 2011 8:30 AM SGT

Day 41

the creeps are difficult. I managed the most I have done so far today - 2 sets of 20 steps. the pistol squats, on the other hand seem surprisingly easy. i have checked the video, and my technique seems correct. weird?

October 23, 2011 5:41 PM SGT

Day 39

day 39 weight is 83.2 kg

October 20, 2011 8:35 PM SGT

Day 36

the pistol squat is something else. its going to take some time.
dinner carbs are back and I am in heaven. After all, the objective of human civilisation is easy access to carb!

October 17, 2011 8:56 PM SGT

Day 33

I am getting used to this apple banana milk egg white diet.
This is what my grandmother used to eat (minus the egg) on hindu religious fast days...

I knew it - there is deep meaning to the PCP.....

October 16, 2011 11:48 AM SGT

Day 32

weight is 84.0, body fat 24.9. Body fat has gone up from last week. I think the machine is doing something weird when I enter lower body weight. It is Japanese and I think it using a sample of japanese men (differnt body type)...I think I will not bother with body fat on a week by week basis, lets see where we are at the end of next month and then at the end of the PCP..

October 12, 2011 8:12 PM SGT

Day 28

1300 skips - manage 500+500+300. Got to try all 1300/1400 in one go...

Day 28

1300 skips - manage 500+500+300. Got to try all 1300/1400 in one go...

October 11, 2011 8:01 AM SGT

Day 27

The skipping is getting a lot more difficult. I keep tripping over more than I used to. The other exercises are getting easier (except the creep, which is a killer). I wish I was Cossack...

October 7, 2011 11:17 PM SGT

Day 23

Day 23 photos posted. Not sure if I can tell the difference. Maybe this needs more time...

October 5, 2011 9:53 PM SGT

Day 21

I had 2 vodka martinis for my 41st birthday. Otherwise stuck to the programme, and as they say, Tomorrow is Another Day....

October 2, 2011 4:05 PM SGT

Day 18

Sunday 2nd October - weight is down to 86 kg, body fat 24.4%....seems like progress...!

September 29, 2011 4:55 PM SGT

Day 15

there is another secret to this PCP project...
it puts hair on your chest...

September 27, 2011 9:15 PM SGT

Hunger

Day 13 - the diet is beginning to bite. I feel hungry all the time. No rest between sets is the killer....

September 26, 2011 8:25 PM SGT

Day 12

This diet is interesting. It seems like I am eating more than I usually do..the exercise is beginning to catch up. I can manage the skips upto now, but not sure for how long. Squats are easier than lunges...
