Done!

Well not really....Taking a few days break and going to hit it hard again next week.  Would have like to have pushed harder in my last week but had a calf injury and battling a nasty bout of bronchitis.   That said I feel good, it's been really a great experience.

Thanks Sarah and Patrick and our wonderful team for all you support!

This has been a very positive experience for me and hope to continue on with the fundamentals of the program for my lifestyle.  Love the diet and the workouts have definitely shown me how to isolate and push my muscles.

Thanks again, all the best PCPers!

Workout Timer App

Found a great app to time jumprope and rest periods on my iPhone.   Gymtimer by Runloop.  If you are looking for a free utility this is great!

Workout Mix

Small observation....A good workout mix is everything!   Been spending a little extra time construct the right mixes to get me through my workouts....Especially important for jumping rope!

Roaring 40s

Hit 40 on Monday and all in all feel very good.  This was one of my main drivers to joing the program, being in the best shape of my life at 40!

To be honest somewhat sad that PCP is coming to an end soon. What am I going to do without someone tellin me what I do and Sarah cheering me on?! Hoping for a good transition plan to continue to follow PCP in a long term horizon.   I still have some stubborn love handles that need to get zapped!

Feeling Good

Been pushing extra hard at the gym....Very happy with my recent workout mix btw.  Helps a lot.  Anyway, I think I seeing good results on the muscle growth..  Still need some work around the mid-section though.

Stress fueled.

Was able to harness a particularly stressful period at work to deliver an exceptionally fulfilling workout today!

Yogurt Tip!

So been frustrated by the high yogurt prices here in Hong Kong.  Especially good yogurt.   We're paying around 70hk (or nearly $10 US) for a moderate sized tub in which we go through roughly two tubs a day.  Couple that with regular shortages at the supermarket and it's not much fun.

So my revelation?  Make my own yogurt!   I had done it a few years back so was familiar with the process.

But have to say, since becoming a yogurt aficionado on PCP, my homemade yogurt is amazing! Better than store bought.

Milk prices are also high here, but I figure my cost savings is about at least a factor of 5x cheaper than the store bought.

Make your own yogurt, PCPers! Not hard to do it all....

Still Playing Catch Up

This has been a tough week....Both trying to recover from the flu and keep on pace with PCP.   Had a great workout on Friday but then my quads were rediculously sore all weekend.

Hope this week gets easier!

Flu

Trying to work my way back into a routine after recovering from the flu.  To be honest, I missed a few workouts now I feel I'm struggling to get back on pace.   Been doing a little bit every day, but feel weak. I don't want to push too hard and either over exert or injur myself.    Any advice much appreciated.

Run down

Just back from a four day biz trip to Mumbai.    Run down and getting a bad cold.  Going to take everything I have to get out of bed to do my workout today :(

Mumbai Tomorrow

This will add a layer of complexity to PCP especially on the food front.  Thankfully only for 4 days.

Great quote!

"This is what makes a serious training program like this different than a three week diet.  We're not just losing some kilos to look better at the pool or class reunion, we're changing the deep structure of your body."

Just upped my motivation!

3 Days to 33%

Training not always easy to fit in, but the nice thing is you can do it anywhere.  Not just limited to the gym.  Doing what I can to make it less boring...

Weight seems to be stabilizing around 207-208lbs about 8 to 9lbs off of start.  Not too bad.

Egg white dinner not as bad as I expected.

February 7, 2012 8:14 PM HKT

25% done!

That was encouraging to hear....Down another 2-3 lbs just over the weekend. Felt a little fatigued on Sunday/Monday but ok now.
February 5, 2012 8:19 PM HKT

Hungry....

Meal portions cut....Feeling pretty hungry today.  Especially after a very active weekend.

Go Pats!

All good in the hood

Actually feel pretty good....I think the diet is starting to pay dividends.  Down 4-5 lbs and generally ok.

Not a big fan of the food going down most of the time.  I freaking miss salt!

Other than that... Energy levels are good despite not getting the recommended 8 hours.  BOY what I would do if I could get consistent 8 hours of sleep.    Two main hurdles....two little kids who have nightmares nearly nightly (squeeze into bed with us) and of course a demanding job in Asia.   Midnight conference calls! .Can always dream about it...  Maybe over the weekend.  Nothing like a good night sleep.

Also miss the occasional drink....Glass of red wine every now and then would be a big plus.   Not to mention need a good night out!

The daily exercising of same routines over and over is a bit zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.  Getting through the routines faster.   Especially jumprope.

But I'm coping...Still pretty manageable....feel good though nothing massively different.    Getting good at jumprope, lunges and just realized....I'm saving a fortune on lunch out!

Bloggity Blogging

Pre-prepped my lunch for work today and brought it in a re-usable container....Feeling pretty good about myself.

Workouts aren't as easy as they used to be.  132 consecutive lunges suck!   Got to pay the dues though... No pain no gain.

Patrick send help

Stuck at hong kong customs:

Customs: sir we found a digital scale in your bag.  What do you use it for?
Me: oh that's for my PCP.  I do it 7 days a week for wellness and other benefits.  I need to weigh out my daily intake.
Customs:???!

Did I say something wrong?  ;)

Adjusting

Doing everything I can to make the food not bland....Marinades, seasoning and garlic!  The chicken eggplant panini was excellent....But craving salt!

Other than that energy levels are remarkably good.   Woke up at 4am today to watch the Patriots win their Super Bowl seat.  Go Pats!

Please, please get access going on iPhone safari, would be a huge help!   A PCP App would be incredible....totally boost this program into the stratosphere!

Day 10 in the morning...

January 22, 2012 6:39 PM HKT

Woah

Ok, the weighing your food thing....a bit of a challenge first time through it.   The kitchen was a disaster after I cooked.   Did my best to dry-rub and marinate our proteins today so our food would be pretty good but a few too many dishes for portioning today.....Will eventually get the hang of it.     Grilled panini with chicken breast, grilled eggplant, arugula, red onion, fresh garlic and a little capsicum (for heat).   What diet?

Got the workout done today.....tried to improvise, ended up using a little table underneath my pull-up bar....

Enjoying (half) my last meal with my lovely Mrs.  Looking forward to day 8 tomorrow.  bring it!

Day 4

Hungry......Legs are sore.  Else feel ok.  Added extra time for exercise bike and stretching today at the gym.

Hope they get the training posting issue resolved, would love to see my daily plan first thing in the morning!
