Final post

I have been a bit slack towards the last few weeks of PCP.  On the whole I have very much enjoyed PCP and the most valuable thing I learnt was how to portion my food properly and be more creative with my cooking.  This has definitely steered me towards a healthier way of life and am still sticking to it, at least on the food front any way.

Day 73

I can't believe it's nearly the end of March!  Where did the time gone!  So far so good this week.  Looking to be a quiet week so can focus on better eating, although I do feel I have improved my dietary habit quite a lot.  Have flagged in the exercising front for the past couple of days but will try and get back into it.  Went away for the weekend to dodge the 7s and didn't take any exercise with me.  But the lazy non boozy weekend was well worth it.

Week 10

Hasn't been as good last week and didn't exercise everyday and ate a few too many chocolate which is unlike me as not really a sweet tooth.  Will persevere this week although will be out a few nights next week..

Friday, day 55

Glad it's Friday and have a quiet weekend ahead which is good.  Had a bad night on Thursday night as went out with a friend and had few too many presecos and some small nibbles as it was free at the bar.  Kung fu sit up, what is that all about?!  Hard and couldn't do it!  What a defeatist I am.  Did pull a calf muscle during the week but have got better.  Looking forward to tomorrow's exercise with no arm/stomach/bum exercise but the simple skip.  will load photo up over the weekend.

Half way through..

Can't believe we are half way through.  Time flies!  Have enjoyed skipping with the new time method.  Finding it much easier as don't have to count.  On average, I can do around 150 skips per minute, which works out a bit more than 1900 each session.  Been doing a bit of skipping down by the sea in Cyberport which makes a nice change from doing in the living room.  Food front all OK, have managed to stick with routine most of the time other than last night, had some cheese and today went to a buffat!  Was good though..  Looking forward to a new week.

Good pain

The pistol squats are quite difficult.  My legs feel like jelly afterwards.  Have had sore upper thighs for a few days now but it's a good kind of pain.  The floor jumps are getting a little easier for sure. Went to the races last night and had a bit more food than should have, but it was mostly veg and salad, with a bit of dressing.  Getting a real proper sweat when doing the exercises and feels good.

The weekend

Had a couple of friends over last night and had a fun night.  Drank a couple of glasses of wine.  Glad it's only skipping today.  Have been counting backwards while skipping which makes it easier and faster.  Dinner for the past week has been unusual.  Surprised that I was full after that and didn't want anything else, most of the time.  Exercises are going well, arm exercises are still a challenge sometimes, esp when am feeling lazy.  Food log looks good, thought I was being creative until I saw that.  Will defo try some of the recipes.

Bad day yesterday

Had a friend from UK visiting and we had buffet for lunch yesterday!  I ate way less than I usually would at a buffet and stuck mostly with protein.  The temptation came with deserts and cheese.  Had a few choc puddings, with ice cream.  Also had a few glasses of wine.  Haven't done the work out today yet.  Waiting for James to come back and we can do it together.  Will be extra good for the rest of the week!

Week 4

Can't believe it's week 4 already!  Time is flying by.  Have had a bad neck for the past couple of days so not been able to do as much exercise.  Feeling better today and will get back into it tomorrow.  The food front is going well.  Still enjoying the steamed veg and fish.  Also sometime having fried chinese veg which I love, with very little olive oil and no seasoning.  Currently using the blue arm exercise band.  Finding it hard with all the shoulder exercises other than curl.  Thinking of down grading it to an easier band.  Went to neighbor's for lunch today,  a bit naughty as didn't weigh the food but had small portions.  Think it was roughly right.  Will have a light dinner.

Steaming

This week has been good so far.  Did the big steam on Sunday and have prepared veg for the rest of the week.  I have never used the steamer properly since moving in over a year ago.  Now I can steam veg and fish, which is delicious.  Defo the way to go, although I much prefer steamed fish to veg.

So far have been eating the veg with chicken and fish etc.  Also roasted a chicken on Sunday which lasted until last night.  Very handy and quick to warm when needed.  Exercises have been OK.  My feet ache more than anything when skipping, esp the arches.  Good tip on the skipping rope, mine was too long.  Starting weight was 56.6kg, now around 55.8kg.  Still have a couple of kgs to shift.  Pop belly still here but getting a little smaller.  Will focus on that when am thinking of snacking on crisps..

Day 12

This week so far I have digressed on the diet programme slightly.  Have stuck to the relevant amount of carbs but faulted on veg as ate a bit more than stated due to hunger and sometimes ate a bit more meat than I should have.  Also had soya milk as milk gave me bad stomach a couple of times.  On the whole, it wasn't too bad esp when parents are in town.

Have enjoyed skipping.  Counting in Shanghainese is much easier than English, faster and easier to keep track.  Still doing push ups with bent knees.  Wonder when will I be able to do a proper one.  Struggled with Davinci quite badly as  can only pull the band to 45 degrees.  Incline pull-up also tricky.  Basically I have very weak arms and much hard work is needed.

Day 7

Last day of eating half portions.  Just looked at the diet sheet, doesn't look as bad as I thought.  New exercises look interesting.  Not been able to do as much skipping due to stomach cramps.  But should be OK by tomorrow.  Parents are in town this weekend and next week, so limiting myself to mum's cooking may be challenging but will try my best to resist.

Day 4

So far so good.  Slowly getting used to exercising in the morning.  Struggling with push ups not done even one with straight leg yet so been doing with knees bent.  Arms/chest aching quite badly as this is the first time in my life I have ever done consecutive push ups in 4 days.  Rest of the bod also aching a bit.  Yesterday afternoon had bad cravings for dried chinese pork.  The urge over took and I ate a few bits but then only had soup for dinner.  Last night had cravings for angel delight and so did the husband.  Drove half way around HK to find some, but no luck, so settled for half of a yoghurt each which semi filled the hole.

Day 1

Day1.  Was almost the same as any other day other than ate less and exercised first in the morning which am not used to but felt good.
