Day 90

Hi everyone.
This is my final post. I am a man of few written words (I actually talk quite a lot) so sorry if this final blog and many of my other blogs seems a little short.

I am not quite sure how to express my feelings on the last 90 days but first things first. Big thanks to Sarah and Patrick for the daily posts and weekly advice. Big thanks to everyone else and especially those people who blog far more often than I have done. It was a great help reading other peoples blogs and reading that everyone is experiencing similar highs and lows.
I am truly ecstatic with the final pictures and the way I feel at the moment. Overall I have dropped from 84kg to around 75/76 kg which is the lightest I have been for decades. I am feeling fitter and stronger than I have ever done and I am looking forward to beginning to train for Triathlons again, my Q2 target.
Overall I had two aims from the programme, one was to lose weight ready to get back into triathlons but secondly I wanted to learn more about my diet and how to keep a good balance. I think I can tick this box too as I am now much more aware of how and what I am eating than I was before.
The photo attached below is me in an old pair of jeans. They now do not stay up. Incredible.

I will strongly recommend this programme to all my friends and anyone that is reading this blog now.

Thanks.

Anthony

Day85

Only 5 days to go. Bring it on. Really looking forward to these last few days although it is going to be tough. Just like last week I am expecting to be in the office for 14 hours most days and I am travelling to Korea on Thursday / Friday so not the last week i had hoped for but i guess this is what i have to get used to. I am feeling pretty positive about taking what i have learnt into the post-PCP world and I am looking forward to this weeks training tips which i hope will cover how to survive without the PCP oversight.

This weekend there were only 2 1st year birthday party's, down on last weekend, so my cake temptation was kept to a minimum but needless to say I did succumb to the odd piece.

DAY 80

Hi All
Well I think my last 10 days are going to be a bit of a write off. My work load has suddenly increased ten fold so back to 16  hour working days which oddly is how I started the project. Anyway I will try to stick to the diet but fitting the exercise in is going to be difficult which is a big shame since I was really enjoying them  and making really good progress. I have never felt so strong.

Weekend was a bit of disaster as well as I went from one childs birthday party to another, 3 in total. All of them were 1st birthday parties and all of them involved loads of cake. 2 more weeks till the birthday season is over.

DAY 71

Hi All
Sorry again to have not blogged for a while, I seem to have falled out of the habit.ALl in all I am doing ok, I am feeling strong and quick. Managed to do a 10k in 48mins on Saturday which is my fastest time for several years. I think I am now the lighest I have been in 10 years which feels great. This week was a good week until Saturday came round with a kids birthday party to attend. I succumb to a cup cake and a glass of champagne. Unfortunately I think the next few weeks are going to be touch since all in all I have four or five 1 year birthday parties to attend including my own daughters 1st birthday. It is going to be a real struggle to not get too stuck into the birthday cakes and to cap it off it is easter next week and I do love Cadburys mini eggs.
I am still enjoying the meals especially now that the evening meals are getting back to normality but I am starting to get a bit worried about what happens when it is all over. How am i going to keep the weight off. I have learnt so much but can i put i into practice without the PCP vibe.

Day 61

Hi Everyone
Sorry to have not blogged for a while but all is well. I am still pushing on through and feeling generally pretty good. It had been great reading everyone else's blogs. It really does keep me going on those days when it gets little tiresome. Not much to report though really, the weekends are still tougher than during the week. At the weekend there is always more temptation with more social events and a bit more peer pressure. I am enjoying the exercises more and more and i have been doing the 8min abs session every day which i have found more productive than the ab exercises on the sheet which i found a step too far on some days.

Phew

Yesterday I fell off the wagon. I had a few pieces of cherry sponge cake. I felt awful afterwards, well maybe not awful. I felt a little guilty but then I read this mornings indulgence update and the world was well again. Yeah.

Anyway. This last week was generally ok, I stuck to the diet every day apart from the cake incident on Saturday and I exercised every day bar one. I lost a couple of pounds and all in all felt pretty good.

I am also taking a break from the skipping but to make up for the difference I have increased my morning run to 8km. Skipping was driving me crazy.

Day by day

This week has been a low point for me. There have been several days or points when I have gotten a bit fed up with the whole thing. It really is tough keeping this up. So it has been great seeing that I am not the only one who has found the last week or so a bit of a grind. I think in part it is because initial buzz has worn off but also, and perhaps this is just me, the evening meals have become pretty much a non event. I always used to look forward to my evening meal but now .... . As I am writing this I am hearing my own words and realising that perhaps there is a lesson in this. Perhaps I should not be looking forward to meals as much as I do.  Anyway, this week looks a bit better assuming that AMAYW means "As Much As You Want". Disappointed to see that the breakfast Carbs have dropped, I was really enjoying my two slices to of toast.

As expected, my weight loss has slowed down but this is no big deal since I am not far off the weight I wanted to achieve anyway and we are only half way through.

The other news from this week is this.
Before I started the diet I had ordered a new suit. Stupid I know but joining the programme was very much a last minute thing. Anyway, what with Chinese New Year and travel and stuff I could not make it to the first fitting until this week........... Good news for me but bad news for the tailor. He has to go back to the drawing board. I have lost 2inches off my waist and 2 inches off my hips since early Jan.

6 weeks

Well, where do I start. Overall, the week has not been too bad. I stuck with the diet on 6 out of 7 days with one small lapse on Saturday night when I had one beer. The weird evening meals have not been too bad even though on paper they looked terrible. I have found the evening meals surprisingly filling although I have often had to have the evening meal and snack in one go since I have got home too late from work to have them separately. The lapse on Saturday night was to try and and appease my wife who is getting a little fed up with the whole thing and needed a night out. Anyway one beer won't do much harm I am sure.
I have enjoyed the tougher exercises. I find the core exercises particularly tough, my core is very weak and needs some tough love. I have continued with my 5k runs before each training session which seems to be fine and my skipping is finally improving although I still struggle to hit the daily target. New photo will be up soon.

Another week another few pounds

Hi All
Well I have made it through another week. This week was tough for me since I was travelling and had a few meetings with clients which meant the diet was tricky. I think I managed to contain the amount I ate but did not stick exactly to the right balance. In addition it was a week of long hours again which meant I only managed three days of exercise rather than 7. However, on the positive side I still appear to have shed a few more pounds, according the scales this morning i am 78.5kg, I was 82.5kg when I started.
This week looks like it is going to be tough too. The diet in particular looks odd with some very strange evening meals. I have no idea what I am going to do with 1 Banana, 250ml milk, 1 Egg White and 1 Apple. Help??

Off the wagon

Well I am just back from a business trip to Korea which proved pretty difficult from a PCP perspective. I definitely did not stick to the diet but  don't think it was too bad and I have not done any exercise for almost a week now given my 16hour days last week which left me exhausted for the weekend and a non stop business day yesterday.

Back on the wagon today though. I hope one day has not set me back too much.

Hanging on in

Hi
It has been a tough week. Exercise started well but tailed off as I finished off the week with two 16 hour working days and a corker of a 19hour working day yesterday. However I managed to stick to the diet but disappointed I could not fit in any exercise on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and today.
Anyway on a positive note I have started to notice some changes now. My clothes are getting quite baggy and according to the scales I have lost 3.5 kilos. Yeah.

Day 15

Not much to report really. Managed to stick to the diet and exercise plan this week without any problems. My skipping is improving and my calves are not nearly as sore as before. Although I plan to go for a 1 and a half hour Thai massage today just to get rid of any tightness.  I have also managed to throw in a 5k run on most days just to keep my legs used to running.

I managed to go out last night with some friends without drinking and had the pleasure of watching them get drunk. I was expecting this to be really difficult but it was not too bad.

The next 2 weeks are going to be a real test for me since I am going on a couple of business trips to meet clients and I am not sure how I am going to stick to the diet.

Day 9

Loving the new diet but is it me or did it seem like too much food or maybe I am just relieved to be past the 1/2 portions. Yesterday went really well from a food perspective and a training perspective since I had a personal training session scheduled in the morning, I enjoyed all the meals I prepared and I did not really suffer with any hunger pains. Managed to to go for a quick 5k run this morning followed by today's exercise routine and got through my first lunch with friends today by having half a steak, it was the only thing on the menu that I could weigh. I added the Carbs and Veg when I returned home by cooking up a quick noodle, vegetable soup.
All in all feeling pretty good at the moment although my calves are really struggling with all the skipping. I have been trying to stretch them out but I think a massage is in order.

Day 7

Well I have kept to the diet all week and it has felt pretty good, a few hunger pangs and the  horrible coffee withdrawals but overall I felt fine. The exercise part has been a bit of a struggle since it has been a week of 14hour days but I now have five days off for Chinese New Year so I should be able to get back into it. Just taken a look at this weeks exercise plan and it looks like I might need to buy some new kit. Thankfully I always enjoy buying new kit. I am still a bit worried about the diet since I have no idea what to buy to fill the requirements but hopefully there will be more updates later today with further guidance

Bye for now

Day 4

Hi everyone
Well so far so good. It has been tough few days and it doesn't help that I have only just got out of the office at midnight so I have had to skip today's exercise but I have stuck to the diet and exercised on the other days so I am pretty pleased. The toughest days were Sunday and Monday when my coffee withdrawal symptoms really kicked in. I have taken a cold turkey approach to my coffee addiction so i only have myself to blame. On Monday by 4pm my head had literally melted and i had broken out in cold sweats not a pleasant sight for anyone that sits near me.

Anyway onwards and upwards.

Bye for now
