FINAL - Day 90

We made it, what a journey! Congratulations to all my team mates. It was def tough at times but the results are superb far exceeding what i thought was achievable in 3 months. Having been out of shape for the best part of 34 years I have certainly achieved PEAK CONDITION now.

If anyone is reading this thinking about doing PCP then sign up now you will not regret it!!

Patrick Sarah and team thanks for your support along the way.

Special mention to Sarina who put up with my mood swings, packed my lunches when i was too tired and worked out with me, you were my inspiration through all of this x

So you might be wondering what's different about this program, what's their special secret? Well you know what the biggest secret is .... there isn't one! Everything that PCP team arms you with is common sense and we all know it but usually chose to ignore it. Having the responsibility of putting up a weekly photo with your progress is also motivation enough to make sure you give 110%, well most of the time anyway, life is never perfect we all have a few wobbles along the way.

This was one of the most amazing things I have done and I now ready to apply these principles to life outside of the PCP bubble .... HELLO WORLD ... I'M BACK !!!!!

April 7, 2012 12:39 AM EDT

Day 84

Training message was right on the money, in Phuket this weekend and had a somewhat non compliant couple days so far will refocus for the home straight now. Really happy with progress so far def some more work to be done post pcp but seeing some significant change from Day 1.... Week 12 picture will go up this afternoon, can't seem to use iPad to upload
See you all on the otherside!!

March 28, 2012 7:33 AM EDT

Day 73

Ugh stuck at work ... 7:32pm and counting .... dont think there will be any exercise tonight how annoying.

March 25, 2012 9:41 PM EDT

Day 72

When we first started this program, I used to feel the need to blog but as the program has become more a part of my daily routine the urge to blog has disappeared.

Enjoyed my first 7s free weekend and boy do I feel good for it.

Scales are stalled at 85kg ish not so concenred about that but am stuck with some really stubborn belly and handle fat i just cant shift which is getting a little frustrating. I guess you cant completely erase 34 years of neglect in 3 months!

Have had a few slip ups since my last blog but nothing major. Couldnt resist the Celebrations Choc box sitting at home a couple of times last week and a few dinners out but kept within the diet structure although the weights were done by sight.

Away the next 2 weekends, back in time to finish the last weekend HK.

Will try to get a picture up this week seemed to be some issues with the website over the weekend.

March 16, 2012 8:45 PM EDT

Day 63

Guess everything looks better in the sunshine ...

March 9, 2012 1:22 AM EST

Day 55

Nine flights, two trains and several automobiles feeling very run down  man flu has kicked in ... Exercises missed twice this week and doesn't look like I will get a chance today either. Really looking fwd to getting back on Sunday

March 7, 2012 8:04 AM EST

Day 53

In the middle of work trip round Europe been staying as PCP friendly as possible
Workouts have been TOUGH but not feeling that I can't move my arms feeling the day after ... Am I doing something wrong? Sticking to the diet thru a work trip is a serious challenge, I hope I don't lose momentum or reverse my progress this week. Haven't weighed myself forwhat seems like 2 weeks hope tonight's hotel has scales I am very curious. After a long day of meetings, planes, trains and automobiles it takes some serious resolve to get into the gym but every time I finish I feel so much better, my mind is clear and I feel so much more organised that I usually do on these things. Really looking fwd to getting back into a controlled environment!!

Stay strong PCPers!

March 2, 2012 10:38 PM EST

Day 49

The dreaded delhi belly has put me out of commission for a few days.
Feel like I an over the worst of it now do back into the gym this morning

February 27, 2012 8:56 PM EST

HALF WAY

Messy start to day 45, missed the workout this morning couldnt get out of bed my quads and glutes are really sore. Stood outside on Robinson road to get a cab to work with my travel gear in the rain for 30mins got soaked. Ended up driving in, got to work 40mins late. Grrrrrrrrr .....

Feeling good, hoping the next 45days yield equivilent results, really want to shrink this belly fat. Starting to think about life after PCP, will i make the right food choices? how do i know what that is? will i end up like my week 1 photo again? I think I have caged bird syndrome, fear of leaving the structure of PCP.

Taking PCP on the road for the 3rd time tonight .... Wedding in Goa followed by European work trip. 11 days away from home this time and will be seeing my folks on Sunday, will be hard to resist good ol' home cooking.

Determined to stay PCP friendly .... wish me luck.

February 24, 2012 9:00 PM EST

Day 42

Looking fwd to reaching the half way marker.

Struggling with the lame social life at the moment, put up week 6 picture this morning, that has cheered me up no end especially when i use the compare function. Might still look like a fatty to all of you but to me i thot this would be what i would look like at the end of the program so now i am excited again

I know we are not supposed to look at the scales but i can't resist, 87.8kgs this morning. My arms and chest starting to feel solid, don't think they have ever felt like this before ...

Went to a birthday party last night plenty of positive comments made me smile.

Other news from the week, been asked to be best man at Matty's wedding which is fantastic news although he did tell me i have matchstick legs now hmmm ...

February 19, 2012 2:52 AM EST

Day 36

My God that was a shock to the system ... Exercises were a real struggle today, really glad the mrs was there to give me that extra push for the bicycle and the plank. Pistol squats are officially my worst exercise.

February 18, 2012 3:36 AM EST

Day 35

Back from an awesome week in Whistler. Stuck to the Diet fairly well although had to use some Deli Turkey a couple days. Used my indulgence day for a fantastic seafood meal at Rim Rock - def worth a visit. On the flight chose the Low Sodium meal which was actually pretty decent and the brucey bonus is you get it before everybody else.

Now for the confessions - didn't really do any PCP exercises during the week was way too tired and sore from boarding all day. Promise to get back on it from today. Hopefully given i was still active all day this wasn't too naughty? Flew back in last night and went straight to a good friends 40th birthday party where indulged again :( didn't eat any of the food during the party but the thirst kicked in quite heavily ending in a 4:30am finish at Cul-de-Sac for food ...thats def naughty .....

Checked the scale this morning saw 89.7kg

Looking fwd to focusing back on the exercise this week although i think the legs are gonna hurt.

February 9, 2012 7:26 PM EST

Day 27

Week 4 picture up ... starting to see some progress i think/hope, still a long way to go though

My friends are awesome they all came and did the PCP workout with me yesterday as a birthday treat .. hahaha

Hit 90.6kg this week - I can see there is def more muscle in upperbody than there used to be.

Off snowboarding tonight back in a week ... get to try out my strong quads and hopefully core?!

February 7, 2012 12:04 AM EST

Day 24

Bit disappointed I had a small blow up on sat evening at the Stag do, felt terrible Sunday and Monday.
Determined not to stray again.

Exercise getting harder but feel like it's an essential part of my day now, particularly enjoying skipping.

Away from Friday for a week snowboarding, not really sure what to do about the exercise that week. Will def be taking the scales but wondering if diet will be enough particularily the evening meal which now has no carbs.

Weight at 91.2kgs, stomach visibly slimmer in profile and moobs are shirking. Had to dig out some clothes from a slimmer time very pleased abt that … Slim Fit shirts seems like Regular fit, couldn't get into them before PCP.

My birthday on Thursday, but doubt there will be much celebrating on my current dinner plan.

February 2, 2012 8:22 AM EST

Day 19

Feeling great after yesterday's wobble ... A good nights sleep, calmer day at work and a great workout
Added a little extra to make up for yesterday's missed session

BIG test this weekend with a mates stag do coming up.
Feel like I can be strong and avoid falling into bad habits besides rumour has it an indulgence day is just around the corner as is my birthday!

Here's to being back on track and feeling good

February 1, 2012 8:08 AM EST

Day 18

Brokedown - fed up after a tough couple of days in the office and a sore knee decided to skip exercising this evening.
Will get back on it tomorrow.
9 days to Whistler is keeping me going but the knee is a bit of a concern :(

January 29, 2012 1:13 AM EST

Day 15

Stuck at 92kg on the scale this week but pretty sure the body shape is changing, dug out a few t-shirts i haven't worn for a while and there's a lot of room in them all of a sudden.

Was nice to hear some positive comments at dinner on friday night.

Anxious to see week 3 diet so i can get everything prepared.

Exercise is ok - push ups def becoming a struggle, trying to master the Mayweather rope technique, hopefully by next sunday i'll have it down.

Had half a diet coke yesterday, surprisingly didn't enjoy it as much as i thot i would.

January 26, 2012 7:31 PM EST

Day 13

Struggled a bit yesterday, didn't have time the night before to prep lunch so took in a tin of Tuna which matched the required protein weight and for the Carbs and the Veg went to the canteen and did it by sight. I was obviously way off because when i got home was really tired and really hungry. Supposed to have 130g of Protein in the evening but was so hungry i ate the whole chicken breast (160g) and a few extra Veggies and a yogurt too. Lucky I had done the exercise in the morning as there was no way i was getting off the couch.

Felt really bloated - first time that has happened since i have been on PCP.

Better this morning - cranked out the exercise and feeling less bloated.

Aside from yesterday I feel like the diet is very filling, almost wondering whether it's too much food, the scales havent really changed much this week was at 92kg this morning. Slightly concerned because everyone else seems to be talking abt the Kgs dropping off, I have even been doing extra exercises here and there ... hmmm

Enjoying the skipping but the push ups and lunges are really burning now.

Concerned my resistance bands arent strong enough when doing the Row and Stamnding ovations.

January 22, 2012 8:04 PM EST

Day 9

So the new diet kicked in yesterday, happy to see full portions on the plate again and I was amazed at how much food there is, only down side is spending all afternoon in the kitchen. Will def need to get the helper up to speed after CNY holiday, wont be sustainable if i need to spend time cooking the next day's breakfast and lunch each evening.

My first day at work on new diet, seems like more food than i would normally eat at the office

Breakfast:
2 x Toast
1x 2egg Omelette with tomato onion and chilli
Mushrooms cooked in a touch of olive oil with pepper.

Morning Snack: Apple

Lunch:
Grilled Chicken Marinated in Ginger, lemon, olive oil, turmeric, coriander and cumin (trying to recreate Chicken Tika flavours)
Brown Rice
Steamed Carrots and Broccoli

Afternoon Snack: Banana + Plum

Exercise still going well, the Mrs and I did the weekend exercises together and I joined her for her usual 11am body pump class on Sat. A little sore this morning so going to do today's workouts in the evening after work. Still on the hunt for a good incline pull up spot, yesterday i used the assisted pull up machine in the gym instead.

My clothes def starting to feel like there's a little more room in them ... long way to go yet though.

Will get this weeks picture up tomorrow

January 19, 2012 7:34 AM EST

Day 5

Ugh ... what a day

Exercises continue to go well, although the pushups have become a bit of a struggle (Knees today) and have a little tightness in the thighs from lunges and squats but nothing serious. Def a good idea to get the exercise out the way early doors before work because i have been abs knackered when i get home. 3km run pre-PCP to complement, skipping has been ok so far hit 200 in a row today the rope caught my feet, just doing the regular two leg jumps but going to start experimenting with some fancy footwork this weekend.

Foodwise, difficult to say whether i have been sticking exactly to half portions, def been eating less though. Not getting the afternoon hunger pangs any more but come home time i am starving. Been staying away from the snacks and "naughty foods". Find myself more alert in the morning when i wake up but def more tired in the evenings.

Weightwise this morning the scale creaked at 92.6kg and I wore a 16.5" neck shirt today and neck was comfortable.

Jan 1st = 96kg
Jan 15th = 94kg (PCP START)
Jan 19th = 92.6kg

something is happening thats for sure ...  looking fwd to day 8 exercises ready for something harder.

January 16, 2012 5:47 AM EST

Day 2

Exercise going smoothly, worked out this morning in the gym before work adding a 3km run to the routine.  Planning to do this every Mon to Thurs. To show her support the mrs suggested we to do the gym together over the weekends so Fri will be evenings and Sat/Sun Mid morning.

I AM STARVING!! This halves thing has not been as easy as it sounds.

half a bowl of All Bran
half a tin of soup
single sandwich from Pret
half an orange
small banana
4x cups of tea
Looking forward to my dinner the helper's put together a beef stir fry and will have some fruit and half a pot of yogurt

January 15, 2012 8:53 AM EST

Day 1

Been anxiously awaiting the startline and here we are!

Looking forward to getting rid of the handles and no longer having the moobs like Jagger.
Seems everyone i have run into this weekend has heard I am doing PCP so a little apprehensive about
putting the Day 1 picture up ....

Starting Stats:
Weight: 94kg
Height: 187cm
Body Fat %: 29.5 ..... woah!

Day one exercises have been fine, did an additional 5km on treadmill and 3km on the bike, gonna try and bang out day two exercises before work tomorrow.

Half portions is a little odd though, think i've been ok with the food:

1x Toast with butter
1x Chicken and Egg Sandwich (it was a half portion already)
1x half sized Apple
1x mini Banana
Half portion of Spag Bol
3x Tea
1x Esspresso
1.5l Water.
